Mind-blowing! Everything was so fresh. The service was incredibly fast, and the attention to detail in the food was exceptional. The prices are competitive, although not the lowest for good reason. The tortillas were freshly hand made, the meats were delicious, and every ingredient radiated freshness. The place is neat and has nice little decorations, although a little comic. The freshest taco I have had in New Orleans came from la Patrona. Great place!

Fantastic restaurant! We used to go to their old location “la mansion” and continue to frequent this new spot and often order delivery and takeout. The food is incredibly flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Their salsa is homemade fresh and excellent. This is not a place where you will find watered down bland food. It’s authentic and packed with flavor and spice, so if you don’t like that, you may want to go somewhere else! They also have great margaritas. I recommend the top shelf ones – worth it in my opinion!

I saw a Facebook ad for this place. I was unaware of it (last I knew it was a hot dog joint!). Anyway, decided to check it out.

Tried every Taco they offered, and they were ALL absolutely spectacular. One better than the next. My personal faves were the Cochinita Pepil, Lengua, Asado de Puerco, and Pastor. An absolute gem, really nice owners, and hands down better than the Tacos I had previously at Val’s, Barracuda, El Pavo Real, Taqueria Guerrero, and Taqueria Corona. Best I’ve ever had in NO.

My favorite tacos Uptown so far. I find myself thinking about these tacos often.

Service was ok, but to sum it up, the food was extremely bland. Chile Relleno combo plate was extremely hot. Not spicy, but hottest food I’ve ever been served. Not sure what the deal is with the rice and the bean “soup” that comes with all the meals. Again, absolutely no flavor of any kind. Chips and salsa which we wish now we didn’t order (not complementary) chips were very thick and salsa (I think) was brown and again, bland – which you can’t even use to improve your bland entre. Not sure how this place gets so many raving reviews. Three stars is generous because I can’t say it’s bad, but also can’t say it’s any good either.

The tacos are very, very good! The margarita was excellent; I wish they would use a better tequila for the happy hr., but over all my first experience was ver good.

Best local Mexican! Simple ingredients like it should be. Home cooked and wonderful owner. It’s cravable! Come and try!

La Patrona is a must!! Their jalapeño margarita is the best I’ve ever had. This family owned restaurant really knows what they’re doing. The green chicken enchiladas are amazing and asada tacos with freshly made corn tortillas and are delicious. If you haven’t been to La Patrona you truly are missing out.

Very tasty small restaurant that needs some volume traffic to help get prices down to be competitive. Definitely worth the trip to the bend!
