I have been to a lot of different places. This is the top on my list. The food was great. The service was excellent, and eye contact with the server was nice from my experience. Some places will not look into you eyes, while placing your order. The atmosphere was comforting. Good size parking lot as well.

A young kid really took care of us brought extra drinks cleared extra plates brought us extra chips and salsa. They have 2 kinds of salsas 1 for wimps and the other has a nice bite to it. If you want the wimpy stuff you have to ask for it. Our grandson had taquitos and the wife and I had the “small platter” which can feed 4 people, food there is always fabulous. I love their guacamole.

This place is great. …mostly. The salsa made me throw up (probably just because I ate it on an emptystomach), but other than that, the food was wonderful. The staff is friendly, there are generous portions, and the prices are fair. I would definitely go back again.

Visited La Palma for dinner last night and will certainly be back. It is far from the best Mexican food I’ve had but it is well rounded and may be the best sit down spot for mexican food in Hermiston. The mole enchiladas were uniquely good in flavor but the sauce wasn’t as thick as I’m used to. The flautas were crispy, the chicken wasn’t dry and the guacamole was fresh tasting and complemented them well. The best part was that with such excessive inflation on most prices, La Palma has stayed around $10-$12 for these dishes. My one real complaint is that the rice was disappointing with solid flavor but some dry or undercooked grains that threw off the whole dish when I encountered them. My impression was that it was not freshly made and probably reheated and old rice. My experience was teetering between 3 and 4 stars but with better rice that could have been pushing 5 stars.

So, I just had a mega burrito or something. It was humongous right. We asked for the biggest burrito they had. It would have been a good burrito, the beans were good. The rice was good on the side, but they filled it with the greasiest oiliest nastiest ground beef that I have ever tasted. even worse than Taco Bell. It almost made me gag. I had two bites. I had to go outside and breathe some fresh air. The good thing is that they replaced it with shredded beef. After that, everything was great. The atmosphere was pretty bad for me that day, because the echo ability of the roofing and walls are insane. You could drop a pin on the other side of the restaurant and hear it in the kitchen. So having multiple guests around us talking means that we can barely even hear ourselves. And the guests were very loud. The servers were outstanding!
