(Still) LOVE this place! Today was special; they had tamales!! Authentic (chicken verde) and absolutely delicious. Chip/salsa bar was on point as ever and my tacos were wonderful. Great selection of fresh juices and plenty of options on the menu. Clean, easy, quick.

Found this amazing hole in the wall, almost drove past it in Harrisonburg Va thinking it was a small place. Took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. The food was so great, service was excellent. If you can find it you need to go.

Service was great, everyone was super friendly! We got rice&veg tacos, steak tacos, bean & cheese pupusas, and pork & cheese pupusas. Decent tacos, delicious pupusas. Pupusas were big, crispy, and the dough to filling ratio was amazing. we also got their horchata and pineapple juice. Horchata was a bit grainy but we didn’t mind it was still good and the pineapple juice was nice, sweet, and refreshing.

This was my first time here, and it was absolutely amazing. Hilda was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. On top of that, she was nice and polite. Wonder customer service from her. Good call putting her in front of house. The food: 10 stars out of five. Fresh and delicious. This place is half convenience store-half restaurant. There’s three Latina chefs in the kitchen and they know what they’re about. I can’t believe it took me this long to find this place. La Morena is a gem. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you, La Morena!

La Morena is the best Mexican restaurant in Harrisonburg. It is a little different you have to walk up and order your food then sit down and wait for it to be prepared. Very authentic.

My favorite mexican food in Harrisonburg. The food is high quality. Handmade tortillas and homemade soups and tamales. Can really taste the difference. Last trip was a slight disappointment so I’m knocking a star. The bean and cheese popusas had no cheese or very little compared to how it used to be. Also the beans weren’t as flavorful as usual and the Carne asada also less flavorful. Prices went up by almost double on tacos and popusas! Other meals also probably rose a bit. I dont mind as much if the quality didnt go down a bit, but kinda a slap to face that prices went up and food is a little worse. So unfortunately I’m gonna start searching for another place and stop by this one periodically to check up on it.

Food had a great taste. But was missing all my sauces, and dip for my chips. The food was also messy I’m assuming from being delivered on a bike. Hard to eat chips and tacos without the sauce so pretty disappointed
