LA GRAN VIA. A CUBAN CUSINE THAT IS ALL TASTY AND “SALUDABLE”. Our meal started with warm bread and butter, then I ordered the Surf and Turf which consisted of large shrimps and skirt steak which is called in Spanish Churasco, medium well is how I like it. On the side came an order of tasty yellow rice with red beans and a choice of sweet plantains. My partner had the red snapper with rice and shrimp mixed in. The meal was great, and I spent about $88 and an added gratuity, Oh by the way, at the end of the meal I had a Cafè con Lechè, it was strong and had a great coffee taste to it. So if you would like some great Cuban food and you find yourself on Bergenline Ave in Union City, N.J. Then check out the Gran Via.

I order pernil with white rice and beans , the pernil didn’t look fresh and it was a small portion. I also order a Cuban sandwich and small coffee total bill $24 overpriced

It’s was fave spot. Authentic cuban food but they’ve been skimping the amount of serving now a days. Before they used to fill you up, now you barely feel full when you leave and we aren’t huge plate folks. Last time I went (I’ve been going there for over 10 years) the food was bland and the mofongo was old. The churrasco we ordered was flank steak… super obvious. The rice was ok, the beans tasted like canned beans not made from scratch like they used to. What happened to this place?
