Night Shift
Let me start with what I was not happy with so hopefully management will see this. I didn’t want to give it three stars because the food was so exceptional but the service really sucked. This afternoon I went in there with a friend for lunch. There were only five other people in there eating. The male server came to our table right away and asked what we wanted to drink. Then when he brought our drinks he disappeared for the longest time and I had to wave him to come over to give him the order for our entrees.

We are new to town and La Fonda Del Sol was recommended to us as a fabulous Mexican restaurant with a great, dog-friendly patio. So we walked over from our rental and were greeted by a very lovely Hostess named Bonnie. She was so excited that we brought our 2 dogs and met us on the back patio with a tray of ice cubes for the puppies! She was so friendly and made us feel right at home. The patio was beautiful, just after sunset with he string lights and gorgeous blooming flowers and trees! Christian was our server and he took the time to chat with us and pamper the dogs! The service was absolutely amazing and friendly. The food was so delicious, too! Very fresh salsa with warm tortilla chips and excellent margaritas! We had the Tropical Salad with Shrimp – it was yummy perfection! We loved the roasted pineapple on it! We also shared a super delicious Shrimp Quesadilla that was so large we took half of it home! Highly recommend! Great service, food and atmosphere! Big shout out to Bonnie and Christian!

Wow what a gem. I was visiting Scottsdale from CO and was looking to get some great Mexican food and boy did this place deliver first of all, we were greeted by someone’s stylish granny which was so sweet. Then the server helped my kiddos make some good choices and was patient with all their questions. Then the staff wasn’t sure if my husband said chicken or cheese so they came out to double check so we didn’t end up with the wrong food and when it came out…wow! So delicious and of course the portion was big enough for leftover lunches. The salsa is the best I’ve ever had out at a restaurant it was so fresh and one was spicy and the other not. The queso was good too. It’s not Blanco but it’s like a mix of the white and yellow with peppers so it hit different. Overall so glad we ended up there!

We were greeted promptly. Sat and immediately greeted by our server, Christian. The queso was delicious and all our entrées were well prepared. At the end without asking boxes for our leftovers were delivered without asking. Will be happy to come back.

La Fonda Del Sol has been our family’s go-to Mexican restaurant for at least a decade. When we heard that they moved locations two weeks ago, we naturally became worried that it wouldn’t be the same. I’m happy to report that the menu is totally unchanged, most of the same staff came along, and the food remains fantastic. Plus, the new location is spacious and a breath of fresh air. So thrilled that some of the best Mexican food in town is here to stay!

I was a bit disappointed, my wife and I tried this place for the first time after seeing all the great reviews. Service was very good but they forgot the meat in my wives Chile relleno only had cheese, so by the time they corrected it, I was already finished with my meal. Will try again when in the area, because everyone deserves a second chance.
