The best Mexican breakfast in East Texas. Hash browns are always crispy! Green and red sauce is not too hot to taste the flavors! Love the flour tortillas they are very thin and so fresh! The migas are so good that I can’t talk myself into trying anything else! My husband always gets the home potatoes with the green sauce and they are delicious too! I have tried the Friday night fish and its very crispy and cooked to order and so good!

Stopped in as travelers headed to Austin. There is no ventilation in this place, it was extremely Smokey when we walked in. I had a bad allergic reaction to the smoke while sitting at the table. The food was okay but not great. I had the Wednesday lunch special, enchiladas. I found bones in my enchiladas. My husband said the carne asada was pretty good. I regret stopping here. The smoke clung to our clothes and hair in the worst way possible stinking up our car. Drive past it if you know what’s good for you.

While you might be expecting Mexican food from the name, La Fonda actually has many different food options. My favorite is their breakfast menu, which they serve all day. Try the pancakes or biscuits and gravy you will NOT be disappointed!!! This is just a little mom and pop shop so expect thigs to be fairly laid back. They stay fairly busy and get to you as fast as they can AND they always greet you with a smile. The atmosphere is always friendly and the food is hot and fresh made. I highly recommend you try it.

Don’t sleep on La Fonda Del Sol in Jacksonville. It’s a little off the beaten path but worth the detail. Authentic Northern Mexican food. Nice portions for the price. The food isade to order. The corn and flour tortillas are very tasty. The salsa is made fresh. The service is fast and friendly. Don’t let the lack of attractive decor dissuade you from taking a seat. It will be worth your time.
