Disappointed. We went because we saw the chicharrones and my hubby wanted to eat some. Well he couldn’t cause they didn’t have any! So we had rice and lentils I had chicken and my hubby had stewed pork. I have to say we cook and flavor is important for us. I was not happy. Food did not taste like I expected at all! Not even adding salt. Nop! Scratched off my list!

This food is absolutely delicious. We grab the food on our last day in Gainesville. We were not disappointed. The staff is very nice. You can take a look at the food to decide what your want. Variety of rice and meats and additions. It’s fresh and hot. Very delicious. The yuca is very good as well. I really recommend this place.

My first meal in the area and it was amazing. I legitimately think about this meal every other week. There are so many options and items to choose from and the staff will help you build your own plate. I got the ropa vieja with black beans and yucca fries. There’s inside seating with many tables and quaint decor, I definitely want to try more at Abuela’s cocina. There’s some parking in the strip, be cautious of lunchtime peak hours!

This is a hidden gem! I went there for a work lunch randomly and man was I pleasantly surprised. First it’s a fast casual so it’s and easy in and out. Second the staff is super nice and third the food was so good. Its pretty darn authentic when you see Gramma walking around behind the counter. Trying to make my way back as soon as possible.
