This stylish new restaurant has a handful of classic dishes and new recipes. The portabella and polenta mushroom dish is a great option for vegetarians – filling and flavorful. Portion sizes are moderate. Be aware that when we visited in April 2023 they charged a credit card fee.

I have been here 3 times and it was always a pleasant atmosphere and the food was delicious. I have had the stuffed chicken with pesto sauce twice because it was so good. Chicken was moist and the sauce yummy. I always have enough to bring home for another meal. Their bread is warm from the oven and always a nice salad on the side. My husband loves the mild sausage and tried the veal parm tonight that was a good portion and delicious. The waitstaff all work together which is nice so you are not waiting for your server to come clear the table if they are busy. We found La Balena a great place for lunch or dinner. Compliments to the Chef and staff!

My good friend lives this place and my first visit was for her sons graduation celebration! The service was absolutely fabulous! We had an assortment of appetizers all of much were presented beautiful and tasted delicious! My daughter went rogue and ordered the kids chicken fingers and fries which – looked handmade and tasted amazing!

Their sausages were un edible. Went there Sunday night all excited to order their Fitchburg famous classic. I don’t know what happened but I literally ended up throwing the meal out it was terrible.

Love the changes La Balena has made to their menu. The chicken tenders, steak and cheese egg rolls, and the flatbread pizza were delicious. The outside patio was beautiful. The staff were very friendly. It was a great experience and we will definitely be back!

Went here for lunch today. I think there was one person running the bar and restaurant. Ordered our meal and received our salad that looked like it was made last weekend and was inedible. Main dish was pretty good. Ordered a citrus cake for dessert and didn’t come with the vanilla ice cream it was advertised on the menu. 12$ really! I went there hoping to order the filet meal and glad I didn’t don’t think the cook was for the customer.

The Reboot of this restaurant doesnt matter until they fix their service. The bar was full with only one bartender pouring drinks and waiting tables! Poor guy was working hard and was always in the weeds! The bartender should be behind the bar only or give him a second. Other servers wandering but not helping. Clearly nobody orchestrating the front of the house and the servers. They seem like hard workers and are pleasant but nobody seems to know what is going on or where anything is. Food is average.

Had a FABULOUS experience! Right from walking in everyone was super personable and you felt like you were wanted there. Our waiter Andrew was attentive, knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations. We had the Aracini appetizer with a raspberry sauce- definitely different but a good different. The sauce you would never think to pair with rice but it strangely and deliciously worked! Homemade pasta is always a plus and you could tell this was high quality homemade pasta cooked perfectly. My husband had the chicken piccata which was scrumptious…just enough lemon and chicken was cooked perfectly. I had the lobster ravioli that was just absolutely dreamy; both were absolutely filling! Key lime pie was totally homemade and just the right amount of tart. My ONLY critique (and this is totally personal preference) was that they had a homemade salad dressing at the table, but served fresh bread (which was DELICIOUS) without a seasoned dipping oil. I would say swap out the dressing and use out back for a seasoned oil on the table. Whoever did the hiring there really hit the nail on the head and whoever is their head chief clearly has a passion for their craft. 10/10 recommend! Can’t wait to come back and try their butter board!!

Had high hopes for the Reboot! Service was really slow. Food was ok. Atmosphere looked like how the previous restaurants before left it. Got the Filet, cooked Medium. Temperature was decent, meat was seasoned well, but it was very dry. Could use some matradee butter on the top, just my opinion. Service was exceptionally slow. Not a lot of attention, especially when we had 2 children with us. Drinks took way too long. Music in the dining area was way too loud, couldn’t hear across the table. Not sure if we will return.
