Visiting Breckenridge we opted for this easy to find hometown diner for breakfast. It was right at cut off for breakfast but were graciously served what we were hungry for. Service was friendly and attentive and our cups were never empty. If you appreciate the cafe that has good cookin and appropriate portions for the money then don’t let its dated look keep you away. This is a friendly, clean, safe place to fill your belly. I will be willing to stop in and check out other menu items when I am in the area. They got the biscuits and gravy right here…

Fish excellent (plenty of fish & fries for 2), my taco salad to salty. When brought to waitress attention she asked if I wanted something else I replied no my husband has enough for 2. Waitresses not sitting around playing on their phones they were busy doing things..big applause thank you for that.

Stopped by 12/26/18 for lunch. Had the Mexican buffet. Having traveled over most of Texas and enjoying many fine Mexican meals this had to rate near the top. Top of the worst meal we have experienced that is. Absolutely no flavor in any of the ground meat items. Potatoes were cold. Not worth the money we spent.

When I walked into this place I had a proustian moment of my elementary cafeteria. The waitress was on top of all the refills although I think she might have had some kind of chemical pick-me-up. The grilled cheese wasn’t bad and was paired with some delicious chips straight from a bag. The ice tea was aged perfectly to give it that sour tang most restaurants are afraid to strive for.

OMG! I had the best chicken fried steak OF MY LIFE here! It was huge, enough for two people (or more), with real mashed potatoes with butter and cream gravy. It’s worth the drive from Dallas for this CFS.
