June 2023 – Party of 4 on a Friday around 6pm. No wait but we barely beat the rush! There was a line forming after we were seated.

Cute spot in Alhambra. Got the haneshita gyukatsu set (came with side of rice, miso soup, mushrooms, pickled veggies, and a side of cabbage slaw) that has a wasabi and sweet sauce, the pork cutlet set with curry (curry additional $3) and the mazemen udon. The haneshita and pork cutlet set were so good. The meat grilled very quickly so don’t forget about it on there! The sauce for the pork cutlet was a bit too sweet so I’m glad we added the curry to balance the flavor out. Thought about trying the cream udons but got the mazemen instead and that was just as great as an alternative to udon with broth or creamy versions. Might look underwhelming at first but all the goodness is buried under so you have to mix it up. The beef and the sauce underneath was heavenly and more than enough to coat all the noodles and topping. There’s a bit of spice to it but it was a good addition to switch up between the meat and pork cutlet. The udon was a bit overcooked but otherwise great all around. Came out to $76 +tip for three people and we still had the udon as leftover. The atmosphere was so comfy and modern. Staff were attentive. Can’t wait to go back to try the other foods.

Came in for early dinner which is perfect timing for little wait time. Amazingly good meat dinner, deliciously presented and a hot plate to self prepare based on your preference. The dipping sauces were out of this world. It’s a Korean-Japanese restaurant with excellent choices of sides and also a good selection of beers, I personally like Cass and they have it. Enjoyed our dinner and good place for conversation with its lively ambience but not overwhelming loud.

Foods are awesome! But if they can improve the service a little bit more faster it would be much much better of a customer experience.

The food they serve is varied with a Japanese style: they have everything from katsu, ramen, soba, udon to steak. However, there is a small number of waiters for the size and number of tables. We recommend the pork and chicken cutlet dishes: they are large, perhaps to share between two people.

The food itself tastes really good. However, it’s easily to see there are not enough servers to support the customers. Need to be patient about the order. The beef gyukatsu is really cool, recommend people try it.

Try new place. I ordered the Kyoto Ramen and inside have raw sprout, raw bok choy (vegetable) and raw white mushrooms and the broth just warm. Make the raw veggies taste bad. The broth was totally plain. I never ate ramen with plain broth before. The server help me to change it and more better but still not good. The egg was the only one taste good. Pork cutlet and the beef cube just so so.

The beef tongue was excellent, and we loved the presentation. The cream udon had curry mixed in under the top layer. We also ordered cheese katsu, which you need to eat fast because the cheese gets cold quickly. It took a little bit for someone to notice that we entered, but after things got ordered it went smoothly.

Pretty good food, unique and tasty. Overall the restaurant has good vibe. Service was kind of slow even on a slow day though.
