Pizza was great. I had the Thomas and the Nacho pizza. The nacho pizza was a bit more novel and the Thomas was a standard solid pizza. The crust was really tasty and overall had a great meal.

So the pizza itself is good and the ingredients are arguably great. The crust is way too big compared to the actual pizza and therefore a good portion of your food is without topping and basically dry bread

You have to stop by and give this hidden pizza joint a try. The crust is thin and crunchy at the center and nice a thick at the end. Really good flavor and surprisingly different from anything else I’ve tried. Our Margarita pizza came out first and I like that he didn’t keep it sitting while we waited for the Thomas. Our Thomas came out 5 min later and that one was my favorite. I will definitely be back to try the other ones. Highly recommend

I’m glad I stumbled across this place at The Lab. Freshly made pizza that’s the perfect personal size. The staff is very friendly & my pizza was done in 15 minutes and brought to me outside as there’s no indoor dining.

It’s a great new place. Perfect for the lab. Wish I could give 4.5 stars. Good, I would say, “Japanese Italian” style pizza. Traditional Italian flavor with Japanese design. It’s light pizza, ideal to split with a friend for a quick bite. Price was about $15-$20 for a pie, which is good, but I could easily crush one by myself and still have room for more. I got the margherita and the nacho pizza (with small slices of jalapeño, sausage, and a little honey).

Great pizza (for California). This is not “Japanese pizza” just Italian pizza made by a Japanese guy and he clearly has affection for pizza. The crust is thin. We had the Cindy and Margarita pizzas. We both agreed that the Cindy was the better of the two but I liked both. Best pizza I have had since moving to California (originally from Boston). I personally think this pizza is better than the pizza you get from Folks across the street but you can’t eat the pizza here as this is a no frills take out window. I will come here again!

I’ve been wanting to try Kuro for a while, I got the Nacho and Nico pizzas. Both were good, but for the size and price other local pizza places are better (one being Folks in the Camp). Parking is always difficult at the LAB, so plan accordingly. This place is takeout only, but there are tables and chairs at the LAB if you want to eat there. Overall I had fun trying Kuro but I don’t think I’ll be back.

Try their margherita pizza. Its crust is thin and its pizza is juicy. Yes, juicy, not greasy. It feels like a very Japanese spin on the classic margherita. I’m coming back next time to try their nacho pizza!

Kuro Artisanal Pizza is one of the best places I’ve eaten that serves pizza. For years my Italian father-in-law owned a pizzeria in Long Beach. He mentioned the secret to making a great pie was to use quality ingredients.
