Visited here with my family for a 2021 farewell dinner all the way from Memphis TN. I knew this was a no frills whole in the wall place, the tsukidashi offered exceeded our expectations and was all very good. Sashimi was fresh and very delicious but the highlight was the maeuntang and wow it was one of the best dining experiences for us in the last few months. I’m seriously contemplating driving 7 hours every month just to have good authentic Korean Sashimi experience, because we don’t have anything like this where I’m from (Memphis, TN) Thanked and saluted the owner chef and his wife for the dining experience and unforgettable New Years Eve 🙂 Cheers !

Took my parents this weekend for an authentic sashimi experience. Dad was excited about feeling transported to a local restaurant by the sea from the fish tank inside to the friendly nature of owners. All the banchan was so delicious and the seafood was so fresh. Highly recommend.

The sign on the storefront is “KPL Fish Market Restaurant 어촌횟집”. The place is a hole in the wall gem for authentic Korean seafood. I’ve talked to the owner who told me he gets two shipments per week straight from Korea. I’ve been here twice and both time, I thought the food was fresh and delicious. Their seafood bowl is refreshing and great. I’ve had their flounder sashimi, abalone, sea pineapple, and squid. All tasted very fresh and good!! I finished off that dinner with their fish stew. Also clean and neat tasting. Perfect amount of spice. You can only find things like this in LA and maybe Manhattan. I am so happy I found this place!

A truly authentic Korean sashimi spot. From the self served water, the free packets of instant coffee, the interior ambiance with austere decor, the freshness of the fish, everything feels like the small neighborhood spot you’d visit in Korea. No bells & whistles, very few 스끼다시 plates offered, just straight fresh quality fish and a killer 매운탕 (spicy seafood stew).

I don’t know about you, but if I want to get an authentic food, I would prefer to go to a run-down place where the menu is written in a strange language, and your server does not really speak fluent English.

A hidden gem – I only found out about place because of my dad. It’s listed in Korean business directories but it wasn’t on yelp or google! I couldn’t believe it and felt I should at least put in on people’s radars.
