Expectations are high when visiting an Amish restaurant and this left us disappointed. I was skeptical when I’d seen the empty parking lot, but we wanted to try it for ourselves. The food was mediocre and the desserts were terrible. We ordered 6 desserts to go after we had eaten and tossed them out. The chocolate cake with p.b. icing was so dry, as if it set out on the counter uncovered for a day or 2. The shoo-fly pie did not taste like shoo-fly pie. The other desserts were missing sugar and not very sweet, not the typical Amish desserts. The meadow tea was delicious and I’d definitely recommend the tea! The best part of the meal was the tea. If you’re looking for a fresh home-cooked meal, I’d go elsewhere 🙁

Nor very impressed. Not our first visit. Been about a year since we were here last. Family visited us from out of town. Figured something close to us and different from what they were used to. Not sure what has happened. The food quality sucked, they couldn’t get us out fast enough. Completely forgot to take my son’s order (11 yrs old) until we brought it to the waitress attention. Frankly embarrassed that I suggested to my family. No cars in the parking lot when we arrived, should of been my first clue. Don’t plan to return.

Not pleased at all. The waitress took the people *behind* us and seated them ahead of my party. Two tables that were seated *after* us received their meals ahead of us. A member of our party ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. It was nothing more than unmelted shredded cheese on toast. We had to ask where are meals were and where the bill was. In short, it was not a good experience at all.

Because of helping with MAF door to door fresh produce market (AKA) The fruit lady! We have become regulars at Kountry Essa. This is our stopping point for lunch and if more produce is needed for the market truck it also serves as a convenient location to refill any needed produce. But on an overall review I would definitely give it a four out of five star rating. And wouldn’t hesitate to tell anyone to go and check it out for them selves.

The waitress seemed like she didn’t want to be there. She didn’t address us, just went into the dining area, threw our menus down, and then about 10 minutes later came back for our drink orders. Was not attentive and the place was empty. Food wasn’t hot, half of it was still cold. Cake was old and hard. Not impressed and probably won’t return.

Turkey was good but my wife had the haddock fish it had a fish smell and was fried to hard and was dry. The fries were good and the waitress could have been a little more helpful and attentive.
