I’m a big fan of family on businesses and new businesses trying to make it and that’s why driving by saw this BBQ shop and decide to give him the opportunity.

I loved it here! I loved the vibe of the whole place and the bartender was very nice and personable. Plenty of tables and booths that I imagine fill up fast for dinner hours. I had the margarita special for $4 and it was pretty good. Plenty of drink options when it comes to bar drinks and the food was really good. We had the ribs, the green beans and the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese were shells and definitely my favorite part. I didn’t love the green beans but they weren’t bad just spicy, I would just get more mac next time or maybe they just didn’t pair well with what else I got. The ribs were good, dry rubbed with some sauce. I like sauce so we got an order of all 3 they offer so I liked having those options. The owner was there and was very nice. I would absolutely recommend and definitely will be back for more! Can’t wait to try the brisket and peach tea

Great family owned small business. Fall off the bone barbecue, everything is made and smoked in house. Definitely try the brisket baked beans and Mac and cheese! Fantastic bar with sports on the TVs and talented bartenders. The specialty cocktails are hand crafted and delicious. Get the smoked old fashioned, maple bacon Manhattan or jalapeño Margarita!!!

I wasn’t super impressed. They were out of pork belly which was what I was hoping to order. I got a chicken, pulled pork, and brisket taco. The brisket was the best of the 3. The pulled pork was overly salty and the chicken was just ok. I also got the green beans and wasn’t a fan at all. I’m not sure what style they were but they had some seasoning that was a bit overwhelming. At $8 a serving the green beans seemed overpriced.

We finally got to see what Kool Daddys was all about. When you walk in its very beautiful. Still needs some work, which the owner acknowledges, but the music is fun, the bartenders are fun. We were excited to try the food because we heard of the Chef that is behind it all. The food was amazing! I cannot wait until he adds more stuff next week to the menu. We are definitely coming back.

Been trying to check this place out since opening and finally made it there. Greeted by Devin and was promptly seated. Inside is huge with both booths and tables. It has a huge hearth in the middle of the room. Devin took my order which I got a Pulled Pork sandwich, Mac and cheese and the Brisket Baked Beans. The meats are smoked on a Traeger Smoker with cherry and maple pellets. The pulled pork sandwich was just had a small portion of pork on it compared with other restaurants and the coleslaw just overwhelmed the pork. It also covered up any sauce that was supposed to be on it. The Brisket Baked Beans had a couple of small slices of brisket on top, not a whole lot of flavor to them. The actual star of the show was the Mac and cheese which is made with Gouda cheese, super creamy and smooth taste. I ordered a Pepsi drink and got a refill on same. The taste between the fountain at the front of the restaurant and the one at the bar was quite different. I know they are a very new restaurant and still have kinks to work out, may come back when they get some business under their belt.

I really wanted to like this place. It’s BBQ with happy hour drinks and close to the office. But I haven’t found a single redeeming quality. We went at 11:30 for lunch to go, and our orders took 45 minutes. The brisket was dry, with heaps of un-rendered fat ($24/lb). The brisket green beans ($8/side) lacked any brisket altogether.

Ok.. so I’m craving some good, smoky, tender ribs and Mac. Called the establishment to ask about menu options before I got there. Upon arrival, the entry is set up like a high school entryway. The entry way lacked character and demands a better look. I get there to get to find out they haven’t had Mac for many hours, and I got my ribs and they were kinda dry/overcooked however; they were very tender. If you want a smoky “smoked meat” flavored ribs… this ain’t it. They tasted like they had sat out all day, or were made a few days prior and reheated. The heating process is giving me oven vibes, not a grill/smoker. $22 for an entire slab is gonna make that restaurant topside soon. That’s below market for ribs. Even with a commercial license, ribs are $12 per slab. I wish you all the best, but I believe I could do better in quality and upkeep of food. Spend a few dollars on getting the interior of the restaurant looking better because you can see it needs painting really bad and more lighting… Or better lighting at least. I wasn’t disappointed, but I was highly upset at the quality of the ribs without Mac. Also looked like they tore the slab in half rather than cutting it. Presentation was mad sloppy. I am a bbq connoisseur. Food blogger. Chef. 2 stars for effort, one extra for friendliness of greeters and food was out prompt. All together i have you a 3. Easily a 2 pc of greeters weren’t helpful.

Had the pulled chicken sandwich with spicy BBQ sauce on the side. It was really good. With the bourbon peach iced tea from the bar. I’ll definitely be back.

Brisket was pretty good and so where the Nachos. I will come back and try more but from the food that I had it was pretty good. I’m giving a 4* review because they still weren’t quite done remodeling and you could see some places that needed work. That aside food was above average and decently priced. All and all a great atmosphere and I would recommend a try.
