As stated in the name, this is certainly a Star. A hole-in-the-wall place with great food, friendly owners and huge portions, reasonable prices. I had the all you can eat BBQ plate and couldn’t eat all of my first serving. My wife had the hamburger steak and brought half of it home. Certainly worth the drive to Navasota, but only open on Friday and Saturday.

Absolutely amazing! food was delicious!! I had the bacon Swiss burger and it was the best I have ever had. My daughter ordered chicken nuggets and they were homemade and delicious. And the service was exceptional. My family will definitely be returning very soon. Also we had the cookies and they were delicious as well and homemade.

This place rules!! I called in our order 45 mins before they closed, only waited a few minutes for it and was given a complimentary iced tea while I waited. Talk about southern hospitality! I got the brisket sandwich, and man do they load it up! Fries were really good too, and oh, this place ALSO serves cookies and desserts inside! 12/10, very much worth the small detour to get there.

Come check out KoKo’s Star of Texas! The sign reads…BEST FOOD IN TEXAS. I’m sold! The folks are wonderful, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the food is out of this world! Try the ribs and brisket.

I’ve been to KoKo’s twice and it’s my new #1 favorite restaurant. If you live in Houston it’s worth the hour drive to get there. It’s that good! If you live in Navasota, College Station, Bryan, Hempstead and haven’t discovered KoKo’s you’re close. They’re ONLY OPEN ON WEEKENDS so check their FB page for hours. Getting there is tricky if you haven’t been. From the above mentioned towns, when driving north on 90 when you see Dewberry Hill Veterinary slow down It comes up fast on the right. Don’t let the looks of the place fool you. The food inside compares favorably with many 5 star restaurants I’ve eaten at in Houston. The all-you-can-eat BBQ deal is a steal at $16. That includes all the sides you want in addition to the brisket, pulled pork, chicken and sausage. Derek Day is the owner and chef. His mama, J C, is the dessert mastermind making sweets you’ve never heard of before. It’s CASH ONLY so don’t forget to hit the ATM before you go. KoKo’s is one of those hidden gems that once you’ve been there you’ll never forget it. The food and people are the best!

Recently ate at a “top 50” BBQ joint in San Marcos, and Koko’s blew it away. Ordered the BBQ sampler for 2, which comes with FOUR sides, and every single bite was amazing. Often, sausage seems to be an afterthought, but Koko’s sausage was probably the best I’ve ever had. Pulled pork, brisket and smoked chicken were equally off the charts good. Don’t let the appearance fool you.. Koko’s is a hidden gem and well worth the short detour from Navasota. We chose to give Koko’s a try because every one of their reviews was 5-star. Easy to see why and add to that impressive streak.

We caught it open before their upcoming remodel. The food is wonderful. The desserts are to die for! We go out of our way to eat here!

This place is THE least expensive BBQ (while being some of the tastiest) I’ve ever had. It’s easily worth the drive from the Brazos Valley or Houston, and they’re some of the friendliest people you’ll meet!
