Great inventive local spot for amazing food and drink – try everything – happy hour specials. Don’t miss the various steak options – all good and as deliciously rare as you prefer. Oysters w/ truffle jelly are sugoi & house wine options were well paired with the excellent food. Oishii !

You can’t pick out the type of oysters here. I came here for happy hour and glad I did. I wouldn’t pay full price for what I got. we made reservations but they probably weren’t needed. The whole time there was only 4 other tables.

This place is the best restaurant which I have in the Seattle for now. TBH I just moved here 6 months ago but I like to eat haha. When I say best. I mean the price and the food are just perfect. You can spend a little money and get a really good food. My favorite is the chicken. After trying the chicken, I came back a week after for this again.

Absolutely impressed by this Japanese steakhouse. The quality of the meat is unmatched and the menu has a dish with wagyu 4 ways that helps with understanding the flavor and taste of the meat in different cuts. Not only was their wagyu great, but they’re creative in their seafood dishes as well. Uni pasta was so unique—rich, creamy, and has that umami flavor! Highly recommend this place for a special occasion, it’s better than most high-end steakhouses!

Craving some steak while strolling through Wallingford? Don’t worry, I got you. Let me take you on a flavor journey to Kokkaku, the Japanese steakhouse over in the Wallingford area of good o’le Seattle. Get ready, because this is a tale of steak done right, with a side of veggies that might have taken a little nap.

Came here for dinner and it happened to be happy hour so we got oysters (1.75/ea during HH) and they were to die for. They were topped with yuzu jelly and truffle oil, an unexpected but amazing combo. The main courses were also good, as was the wagyu sashimi which is a great deal during happy hour. Will definitely come back!!

One phrase, and not too often used for creative Japanese fusion food – value for money! Recommended by a regular, this place had plenty of inventive dishes with Japanese themes and delightful presentations. After trying 8 odd dishes between two of us, we averaged $60 per person and left a happy camper. Back soon!

Finally got to try the famous Kokkaku. Wine list was not good 🙁 . Seems my friend enjoyed his drink. The two main dishes we ordered, the beef pasta and the duck risotto were super good. The flavor was prevalent but not overly sauced or salty, just perfect. The wagyu entre that’s seared was super flavorful as well. Table space wasn’t much but aside from that it was a good experience

There are so many places to eat in Seattle so we are always wanting to try new ones. We were out in Wallingford so we decided to grab some eats here. The service was absolutely awful and this is why I’m giving it 2 stars which is such a bummer. The food was really good especially their edamame. We were all impressed with that appetizer. Crazy cause you usually wouldn’t call that dish out but it was really good! The onion soup was delicious and had great flavor. They bring out the whole onion and pour the broth over it when they bring it out. It was a good touch. Also the tuna tar tar was super good and had a wonderful presentation. We got the special for the night which was steak. It was too charred for me. The Mac and cheese was so creamy! We had to ask the sever to remove our plates and he even came over and picked up the plates and set them back down just to grab the menus. We were like what is he doing?! We had to constantly get his attention to even order drinks. If he stayed on top of it and brought more drinks when we were out he probably could’ve made a bigger tip cause we would’ve spent more. We also had to walk up to the bar to get our bill. Just all bad. Good food but that’s it. It’s not fun when you spend a lot of money and get horrible service. It’s too bad.

Overall I had a great dinner here! The food was very good. Caesar salad was very good for being a Caesar salad- they put their own twist on it and tasted great. Uni spaghetti was delicious as was the American NY steak. We opted to get a side of mashed potatoes since I read so many reviews about them, and it was definitely worth the extra $5! Creamy deliciousness. I’m only knocking off a star because they were a bit slow on service even though the restaurant was half empty. They were were very friendly staff though. It seemed like more of an issue in the back of the house and how fast they were cooking vs the front of the house. Definitely worth coming back at some point.
