Stopped by Koja Kitchen for a late night meal.

This is one of my favorite spots to visit for great quick and easy food in downtown sac! I really enjoy the umami fries, and the burgers. It gets pretty busy around lunch time. But dinner is usually pretty chill, and a great time to visit!

The short rib bowl was amazing!! Loved everything about it!! The braised pork taco left a lot to be desired. I had one bite and I couldn’t eat any more of it. Look forward to getting the short rib again though!!

I like the ideas they have for their menu, and the fries we got were really good. The other items were just okay and the unfortunate reality of having to sketchily walk past homeless tweakers and then watching them almost getting hit by the tram really sealed in the experience.

I’m sorry, but when I went to their food truck, I really enjoyed it. This restaurant is run down and it seems like nobody cares. That’s too bad. I don’t think I’ll be back.

Low key place to grab a quick grub. We were craving fries so we ordered the kamizake fries. The sauce was delicate and the fries weren’t drenched if that’s your style. The beef was cooked well enough. Of course don’t expect anything out of this world but it’s a good budget option for a quality meal. I’d be interested in trying their other dishes. The tables were clean and the atmosphere was chill.

They have good food, they have fast service, and the atmosphere is laid back at least at lunch.

Customer service was pretty good 8/10. Atmosphere 8/10 (outside seatings) nice bright lights & golden 1 center view. Food wise 4/10. Different items was order for dinner and the sauce that was used for every dish was the same, kinda disappointing. Fries were way too soft no crunch at all. Teriyaki Zen was the biggest disappointment. They ran out of buns that night and burger buns were fried rice patties. We order 2 Different burger buns and they serve us 2 with the same meat . Will reconsider on returning.

Their Short Rib Bun and Beef Rice Bowl were exceptionally flavorful. The bun was very smooth and springy; it went so well with the juicy short rip and lettuce. The short rip flavor was similar to teriyaki with sesame oil and sesame seed. Lettuce also came with the Beef Rice Bowl. The marinated beef was very flavorful that went very well with steamed rice and salad with no dressing. My only wish is to have a bigger bun and bigger portion of rice/lettuce to balance the flavor bomb from the selected protein.
