One Hungry Possum
If you love Hibatchi food to-go but miss getting the full experience with the soup and salad (and shrimp appetizer with the dinner) then go here! Finally a hibachi take-out restaurant with the delicious ginger dressing (or ranch if you’re that guy) and the clear broth with mushrooms (house soup) or miso soup (it comes with that one but I switched for the house). For just opening the food was really impressive taste-wise. It is only take-out but you can eat inside so that’s a nice option. Just a heads up, it was meant for take-out so If you are expecting a Hibatchi atmosphere or a cozy dine-in ambiance, don’t. But if you don’t mind chillin in an old booth watching cars go by and chowing down on the food while it’s hot and fresh, it’s fine. This place is new and has the possibility to grow as decor and atmosphere goes. As far as the food, I highly recommend the AVOCADO BOMB! Like the name, it was bomb and could be a meal in itself. Get some steamed rice and put those bad boys on top and voila! A nice lunch. Also, I loved the house soup. It has a ton of flavor and spice and isn’t just a plain broth that’s over peppery like you find at some places. I also really enjoyed the ginger dressing on the crunchy iceberg salad and even as a dipper with the Shumai dumplings, which are also a delicious bite-sized snack you don’t see around here. The yakisoba with steak was really good, steak was a little on the chewy side but was better than some of the trucks around here and had good flavor. The Rangoon had a really gooey filling with super crispy edges- I wish it came with a sweet n sour dipping sauce instead of packets of duck sauce but the duck sauce was actually really good on it (I’m just a dipper fan). Sushi was alright, really big bites so if you eat it in two bites the seaweed is a little hard to tear so I attempted to eat them in one bite- not the cutest look so be prepared, but the flavor was exactly what I expected except the spicy crab wasn’t really spicy (maybe they have sriracha packets?) The fried rice was really moist so that’s a plus if you are getting hibachi- only down side to that is they charge $3.95 to make the steamed rice fried when you order hibachi. That being said, the prices are a little on the high side but I’d go here over the closest food truck this side of town, especially for the awesome appetizers and the nice extras you get with the Hibatchi. Give ‘em a try, it’s decent for take out and I appreciated the options.

We really enjoyed our Togo lunch from here. Husband got Shrimp and I got Chicken Hibachi. We both remarked that it tasted better than Benihana we ate at a few weeks ago.

I’m quite particular about my Hibachi, having grown up in Springfield, MO. The Hibachi soup is very good, I only needed to add a little ginger to get it to my liking. The fried rice is also very good, fluffy and well flavored. I will definitely be coming back for more.

Koi Express has definitely proven itself to be one of the best fast food restaurants in terms of quality food and amazing customer service. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of being served by an exceptional staff member, Payton. Her customer service skills were remarkable, making me feel like a valued customer from the moment I walked in.

Ordered hibachi chicken dinner with soup and salad. They pack in enough chicken, veggies, and rice for 2 people. Very delicious!

I ordered the avocado bomb. It was AMAZING! I also had the gyoza. It was super yummy. It can get pricey. For 3 of us it was $60+. Drinks including water don’t have free refills and everything is in styrofoam take out containers with plastic silverware. Everyone at my table was happy with the food they got. A great addition to Hot Springs. Don’t expect a fancy dining experience. Expect waiting a little bit for some delicious food.
So Real
We where excited about having a hibachi closer to us. However our experience wasn’t up to standard . The service was horrible the young lady in the front was on her phone talking about how she was planning to go out with her friends . She also was eating which was a eye sore in the front .The food was very blend with no flavor . The crab Rangoon were over cooked and dry My steak and chicken was dry and the YUMyum sauce was just plain mayo . miso soup was just salt with water no flavor . The food was not worth the prices. We hope in the future this location will re vamp their customers service and food quality . it sadden me to know this location is so new and the service was not great. Also they don’t have high chairs for the Little ones . I wish this location all the success in the future.

I’ve been looking for sushi like this that i didn’t have to drive far for since i moved cities. I got the yummy roll just to play it safe and it was AMAZING. the service was AMAZING, my food was still hot when i got it even though i was running a bit late. what a wonderful addition to Hot Springs. I will be eating here again!

I hate giving this place a bad review. The owners obviously have put a lot of money to fix up this restaurant. However, my wife and I got the chicken and salmon hibachi. Sorry to say both were dry and burnt. Salmon old, smelled bad and very fishy. Chicken was dry and tough. Nothing fresh. Silverware cheap plastic. We ate in and it was served in a styrofoam container. Sodas from cans. No refills.
