I am in Covington for roughly three weeks for work, and the place I keep wanting to return to is this one. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food. Whew, the food knocks my socks off every time. The sushi rolls are fantastic – especially the godzilla roll, the hibachi is amazing, and their express rice bowls are one helluva bargain. Would recommend, and I will be sorry that I have to wait until October to be back in the area once this trip is over.

I grabbed takeout on Wednesday. The cashier was pleasant. The food came fairly fast. I ordered the Shrimp Hibachi with an egg, but without mushrooms and a side of Fried Shrimp. The Shrimp in the Shrimp hibachi were a tad overcooked. The rice was dry. It’s weird to not have vegetables in the rice (diced onions, and scallions, at least). I would’ve loved a little more sesame oil too. The crust on the fried shrimp was super thick and not completely cooked all the way through. I threw them in the oven when I got home. The grilled vegetables that come with it were good. It was definitely a lot of food. I actually shared it with my daughter.

I like the rolls with the rice on the outside. However, the Philly rolls that I have got twice already are not tight enough, so they fall apart. I have not said anything to them, but they still taste great to me. The that I order is a great deal. I usually get 2 rolls and a drink…$35 plus tip. Today was $20.30. Great deal if you ask me.

1st visit and it was good. Very reasonably priced for the amount of food and the food was tasty. 5 stars for service as I saw the manager take the meat off of my order and have the cook remake it as he had overcooked it per my request for medium rare. She did this on her own when she saw the error. Very high quality control. We did take out and the sitting area is a bit old and outdated. Would say this is a good hole in wall for hibachi.

I’m Japanese and I stop by Covington about once a year for work. We happened to dine at Kobe last year and it was amazingly delicious. To be honest, it was the most palatable sushi I had in America. I couldn’t forget the taste, so I stopped by Kobe again this year. I wish I could have this American style sushi in my hometown. My favorites are Maybach roll, Chirashi don and Gyoza. I will definitely come again!
