We dropped in for an appetizer and beer before leaving New Glarus to return home. The atmosphere of the place was nice: warm and friendly. The bar tender was very attentive. We had Spotted Cows and fries which were good. The outside dining area was a comfortable place to relax.

Place is friendly enough, but it’s just your average bar with drinks from any grocery store. The food is meh, like your friend’s son in college had some frozen food and was able to microwave or grill it. I would go to hang out with friends. I would definitely not eat here. It’s a one man shop really, bartender serves drinks and makes the food in the back corner. What you see is what you get.

I had a great time here. I rode my bike there. The servers and customers were all a lot of fun. They have New Glarus beers on tap. The bar has a great atmosphere and just feels fun. The servers work really hard. The bartender took my food order then went and cooked my heart attack burger. And it was awesome! I will be going back for another and taking friends. The menu is a bar menu but they make it taste really good.

Stopped here at 2pm on a Saturday just after a rainstorm had ended. Whole downtown was very vacant, and nobody was inside the bar. We wanted to sit outside, in the front to get lunch, as we had our well-behaved dog with us, so outside eating was our only option. Server/bartender inside was clearly not interested in our business, so we moved on. Funny thing is we had similar experiences that same early afternoon in New Glarus, so we wound up driving down to Monticello and had an awesome late lunch with great and polite service.

Our first stop to try some cheese curds, and they were delicious! Cute spot! When we arrived, there were a few ladies who ended up leaving, which left us with an empty bar. The service was great, and we enjoyed our quick stop in!
