Excellent little lunch restaurant, really enjoyed the atmosphere and setup of this place. Our server was very friendly and she was helpful with any questions we had about any dishes. (I’m an amateur when it comes to Japanese food).

Definitely a really unique spot with an awesome open kitchen atmosphere. We got the mixed veggies, cold ramen salad and chicken katsu sandwich. Definitely a miss on the raw veggies seemed like the lettuce was cheap store bought iceberg. Cold noodle and chicken sandwich was flavorful and nice presentation. Good service as well. Overall a place to go and try out but don’t expect to be mind blown. A bit overhyped.

Has been here for three times now, definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Nashville. Authentic Japanese food with great service. Love their yuzu lemonade and beef udon.

The BEST place to get authentic handcrafted Japanese food in Nashville and my favorite restaurant maybe in the entire world. We try to come at least once a week, everything is amazing but current favorites are the inari, onigiri, beef tartare crispy rice, udon curry with katsu, katsu sando and the melon cream soda. So lucky to have real, exceptional Japanese food in this town finally

Kisser is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. I have been three times and had an equally amazing experience each time. The space is thoughtfully decorated and inviting. Service is friendly and accommodating. The food is chef’s kiss. A few dishes are a tad too salty but overall absolutely delicious.

We had lunch there Memorial Weekend, and this place is no longer a secret! We had about a 30 minute wait, but it was well worth the wait!! We didn’t have a dish that we didn’t like! Some were definitely better than others, but I believe that’s more of a preference thing.

I guess I have an unpopular opinion judging by the other reviews but this place was not good. The food looks great but don’t be fooled— the taste was just plain bad. The tantan ramen looked amazing when they brought it out but the flavor was insanely bitter and I couldn’t finish the small portion they give. The katsu chicken sandwich was not as bad as the ramen dish but it was truly the worst fried chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Completely bland. Lastly the Onigiri dish was just ok but it’s really just a gimmick way to eat sushi. And not very good sushi at that. And although the server was polite they never filled our drinks and the bill had a mandatory 18% gratuity on it. Which is probably the reason they didn’t feel the need to give refills. Why would they go above and beyond on service when there is no consequence if they do not? In conclusion I wanted to love this place but it turned out to be a $60 mistake and I highly encourage you to skip this place and go somewhere more authentic if you are looking for Japanese food. I know flavor is subjective but this place was bad.

My friend tried this place last week and couldn’t wait to bring me. It was so amazing! It’s clear why there’s a line.

Great lunch spot in East Nashville. Very nice selection of high garden tea and other beverages, I enjoyed the sencha a lot. Yaki was my favorite of the three onigiri, had everything great about yakitori (charcoal grilled skewers kind of like kebabs) but as a rice ball. Katsu sandwich was great too, there’s not really a bad way to make a fried chicken sandwich. Honestly my favorite thing was the tomato salad. Favorite time of the year is peak tomato season. Happy that they auto include the gratuity as well, the service was great all around. Little expensive but that’s east nashville for you.

Cannot understand why so popular. I would say the food is just average… pretty good environment and experience though.
