I really wanted to give King’s Fish House a five star review, but here we are. We’ve been to King’s Fish House multiple times. In fact, it’s our go-to restaurant when we can get away for date night. Over these multiple visits we’ve come to the conclusion that the oysters are the main event. We’ve tried the octopus, fish, and sushi rolls. Every time, we’d come away saying the same thing: the oysters are the highlight.

The ambience is good. We were seated outside, it was a hot weekend and the dark blinds were down. After a while they opened it and it was really good then. Food was okay, I’m not particularly a fan of this style of food so I won’t be a good judge of it. One thing that did not impress me was how the bartender served sake. We had ordered a nigori and we have never had it before and they poured it without shaking and it was clear. I read what’s written on the bottle and saw a white thing floating and realized it’s supposed to be shaken. Maybe it can be had both ways but we could have been informed about this ‍♀️

Food was ok. Fried fish was good, but the fries were cold and stale. The deconstructed Louie salad was very disappointing- shrimp was cold and rubbery and lettuce was soft and dry. It was more of a crudite with dressing (and bacon) on the side. Very expensive and not worth it.

Food was great. Oysters were some of the best I have ever had. Beet salad was delicious. Blackened Swordfish perfectly cooked, moist and flavorful. My friend has the seared tuna which also was delicious. Service was great too, not overwhelming but quick with recommendations that were all great. Will definitely be back.

A great Fish eatery now at Westfield valley fair in San Jose. There are many different seafood options which I like that they keep to the side of the menu and what they are branding. Good service and cute decor. Also Hardy portions for the prices. Pretty easy for gluten-free as most of the dishes are’s seafood based!

Kings Fish House is a chain with a dozen locations, mostly in Southern California where it originated. This one, in Westfield Valley Fair, has the typical decor and casual ambience that you’d find in any large mall restaurant.

I am giving 3 stars just for a nice restaurant design and location. The food, however, doesn’t fit the place or price. Everything we ordered was oversalted, the servant didn’t pay attention to us. We waited for our order for 50 min.. I ordered an appetizer and my friends ordered lobster rolls and drinks. You have been waiting for such a long time and finally can’t enjoy the food as it is not good at all.. Disappointed

We went with a party of 8 with reservations. They had to set up our table, which was fine. Service was great, considering we had a large group. Our server Lawrence was actually handling a different section; he was wonderful. They opened the section we were in for our group. The food was very fantastic. Had a yellowtail appetizer, which was very, very fresh. I had a wonderful tuna melt, which is apparently different than a normal one and was so tasty. The youngest kiddo had the wild Columbian salmon, and they polished that off. Other kiddo had the hamburger also “very large” and good. We went at the “senior citizen dinner hour” time, lol, around 3pm. Easy going atmosphere. Next time I’m out here, I’ll ask to go here. Photo if attached is the last piece of the yellowtail appetizer.
