This is NOT the Kings BBQ in Haiku. (That place is good!) this is the Kings BBQ going to Happy Valley in Wailuku. We went in to order food and we wanted to order a combination plate of Mochiko Chicken, Sweet Sour Ribs and Noodles. We were told that we would have to order two separate plate lunches that is served with rice and mac salad and order a plate of just noodles. Thought it was odd they didn’t have a combination plate. Also, 12:00pm and only one customer sitting in there seemed really odd too. Needless to say we ended up taking our business elsewhere that actually had a combo plate.

Casual and good food. You sit on a porch under a veranda and enjoy cooked to order food. Reasonable prices and portions. Definitely hits the spot if you’re looking for take out Chinese.

At Kings you have more than enough to choose from their menu offers something for everyone. Can get pricey depending on what your craving and how many people you have in your family to satisfy the appetite. I have a couple favorites: Fried Mahi Mahi to start, BBQ mixed plate, Garlic chicken, Musubi.

You can almost always get a seat here. It is casual, laid back and local. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Service is reasonably quick, (I have seen it described in some of the reviews as “fast food” it is not fast like as in Mcdonald’s.. so don’t go there in a rush) They also serve local foods, like loco moco and do some fusion cooking like bacon and eggs with rice. Take out is available.

Probably the cheapest restaurant on the island! I check in late in my airbnb and they were nice to serve me even though they were about to close in 5 mins! I got the honey walnut shrimp and it was pretty good! Not as crunchy but still how I like it.
