I recently tried King’s Chinese Restaurant in Freehold, and overall, it was a good experience. We ordered take-out, and the restaurant was packed with people picking up their orders. Despite the crowds, the food was ready to go and lined up for take-out.

I came here because of all the great reviews, but unfortunately I didn’t find it that great. I ordered the sesame chicken dinner with vegetable fried rice. The breading to the sesame chicken was soggy. The sauce is suppose to be sweet and tangy. The sauce here had a bit of a tang, but lacked any sweetness. They need to improve the sauce to this dish! I expected for the higher price point here that the vegetable fried rice would of had better quality vegetables in it plus they didn’t give you any Chinese corn in it like other places do. The vegetable egg roll it came with was very good! Overall, I thought this place was mediocre. I’ll give this place another shot because of all the great reviews. I’d definitely don’t recommend ordering the sesame chicken here!

Busy night. Had to wait 20 min for table. Service good, soup, noodles and tea good. Seafood dish disappointing. Lobster chewy and very little sauce. Will go back to try other dishes. It seems alot of people ordered ribs and other dishes that looked appetizing

me and my boyfriend came here and first of all the service wasn’t the best. many of the servers asking if we got our orders taken when we already ordered. my boyfriend tried to get their attention and ignored him (multiple times). our food came out i ordered the sesame chicken and it was so stringy and could not bite down into it and had an odd smell as well as the eggs, smelt and looked expired. we have been to many restaurants and this is not one i would recommend going to. but the servers there are super nice.

The spare ribs, egg rolls, soup, fried rice and Moo sho pork were cold. The fried rice was not fried and it was not tasty at all. I was totally disappointed went there to celebrate Father’s Day. I had been there before and felt it would be a good choice. I was so wrong. It will be the last time I go there. I told management about the rice and his response was I will speak to the cook. They still charged me for the tasteless fried rice which we did not eat at all. We only picked on the egg rolls and tolerated the warm soups. I will never go to Kings Chinese again

We ordered two dishes. Both orders were botched. Soup missing from my lunch special. Crispy noodles missing from my wife’s chow mein. Chicken with garlic sauce is actually “Chicken with broccoli in garlic sauce”. This dish was very spicy. It so happens that I like it spicy, so it worked well for me.

Helped my brother moved at his new home in Marlboro. After a long day of unpacking and moving things around – we were hungry! We decided to try Kings for the first time. We gave it a try after reading a few reviews (you guys are liars or don’t have any ethnic palate). Born and raised in northern jersey where towns are highly diverse and asian cuisine are top notch – Kings definitely does not cut close to the competition. Food was mediocre-ly bland, chicken wings was disgustingly coated with an airy flour, soggy sesame chicken that was chewy and lo mein was extremely dry! Unfortunately, this was our first and definitely our last.

Old style Cantonese which is my favorite however on my first takeout order I was somewhat disappointed. The pork fried rice didn’t have the bean sprouts or scallion or white onion. It had some egg but overall the rice was dry and granular like it had been sitting for a while I had to fix it at home adding the above mentioned ingredients with a spritz of water to bring the rice back to life. The Chicken with garlic sauce at 18.99 had good flavor but the portion was very small and it was missing the usual mushrooms and red peppers and the rich Szechuan sauce. The Chicken had way too much coating on them to be enjoyed. Eggrolls are very good! Now for the saving grace… The ribs are probably the best you are going to have at any Chinese restaurant or watch out BBQ place! Tender fall off the bone with flavor ful meat you will not regret your order! I will they were quite busy but my food came out too fast to be properly prepared. Overall they are pricey for the quality of ingredients in the food or lack thereof. The ribs are the “gotta have” in this restaurant and I was told the seafood platter but that’s for next time!

I started going to this place when they first opened up almost 40 years ago. I no longer live in NJ but when I come to visit I always eat here. They have the best Chinese food around. This is a family owned establishment and a few things have changed over the years and decades but everything is as good now as it was back then. I highly recommend. Great portion sizes lots of options very friendly staff and family. A+++

Egg roll, soups, ribs, and lo mein were delicious. Sesame chicken and general tsos chicken lacked flavor. Expensive but food is very good.
