I went today with my husband. This was our first time ever being at a King of the Coop and it did not disappoint! Neither of us really enjoy spicy foods, so we got the Naked tenders and Biddy nuggets. Both were delicious as well as the fries. Everything was fresh and hot since it is all made to order. A woman named Di was working and was such a sweetheart. She asked if we had ever been there before and when we said no she took the time to explain their system to us. The only downside is the lack of seating, but with a store that small I can see how it’s hard to find the space. We will definitely be visiting in the future!

Had to give this place a review, before I even finished my food ! They really out here doing things !!! I got the Nashville chicken with a side of pimento cheese, extra king sauce and coops sweet tea!!!! My first time trying king of the coop and now I know why they picked that name ❤️ by far the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had !!! I mean the thang comes with bread and butter pickles !! Sweet, spicy and savory for sure ! Great job

With the Chicken Sandwich “wars” going on right now in the Tampa Bay Area, we had to try King of the Coop. The menu is sorta confusing with an array of heat (spices), sandwiches, and sauces. But we both finally settled on the Hen, with the Midway spice and one with King sauce and one with dill ranch. Everything was really, really good. The sandwich was huge and the bun had a slight sweetness like a Hawaiian roll.

This is a cool little local spot where the guys cooking work hard and make a great fried chicken! It’s TAKE OUT ONLY. We got a pound of the jumbo tenders and a pound of the smaller tenders…there was enough for the six of us. We also had the fries and hush puppies. We thought the hush puppies were the best we’d ever had! We got the chicken naked and the spice rub, I would probably prefer sauced which I’ll try next time. They were out of Mac n cheese and banana pudding by the end of the day on Sunday, so go early!

This was my first time at the St. Pete location and I was disappointed by the lack of heat on our tenders. I’ve been to the original location and my mouth was on fire with just the midway seasoning, but here, I got nothing. Thankfully their tender flavor is delicious in general, but my husband ordered the Nashville hot and was also underwhelmed. We got hints of the heat in certain spots, but it needed more sauce or oil or whatever they toss it in!

I kind of stumbled onto this place during their soft opening. And glad I did.

The chicken was super moist and so flavorful. We got the tenders and hush puppies- those hush puppies were delicious too and came with pimento cheese. Might sound weird but tasted great!

This place is awesome! I have eaten there the last three days in a row. I don’t eat chicken and I’m gluten-free so I get the catfish. The catfish is so flavorful and they have the best collard greens I have ever had. The tater tot potato salad is on point. And of course fries are always good.
