Sukiyaki here is the best, and great value! We (2) got the 2-person tasting menu and it was a ton of food, including some appetizers, the whole hotpot experience, as well as a dessert for each (matcha tofu, delicious). The server doted on us constantly and placed the hotpot ingredients for us (even offered to serve us when it was done). Definitely coming here again!

This is one of the only Japanese hot pot places in New York and they’re so good! They’re known for their collagen hotpot but also have less intimidating options like pork belly or just simple sukiyaki. Good drink and appetizer options as well.

We were 4 people, 2 vegetarian and 2 non vegetarian so we ordered one vegetarian hot pot for 2 and one chicken hot pot for 2. The staff placed two gas stoves with chicken broth on one and tomato broth on the other. There were 10 different vegetables for the vegetarian option and a variety of chicken for the other one with some vegetables to add as per our choice. The staff helped us cook and serve the food in our bowls and brought some soya sauce and hot chilli oil as flavouring to be used as per our taste. We also ordered a bowl of boiled noodles to add some weight to the food. We found the vegetarian broth was much better than the chicken broth. All in all a nice experience. My daughter in law and son love the place although I am not very sure my wife would like to dine here again given the wide variety of food choices available in New York and the limited time we spend here.

The hotpots here are sooooo good. We loved the sukiyaki hotpot – amazing broth and very tender beef. The skewers and fried chicken were delicious as well. I’ll totally come back.

Hotpot and overall food quality is superb. Exceeded expectations in area. Feels like I found a hidden gem of a restaurant!

Kimura is a great traditional Japanese restaurant, especially during cold season. However, I’m afraid the qualities are not as good as before. All dishes were tasty but a bit too salty. The staff were polite but not professional.

Please make a reservation before coming! There are always a lot of people here plus the space of the restaurant itself is not big . The hot pot is so nice. The broth is different from other places, but it tastes good. The server will cook the hot pot for you the first time, so remember not to do it by yourself.

Two people ate about $60/person. Tried the sukiyaki. I recommend the chicken and scallion skewer. Others like beef tongue slices, okra, and beef skewer is just so so. I don’t think this restaurant is anything special that can attract me go a second time.
