We found this place while looking for less touristy spots on the island and we’re so glad we did. The food was seriously delicious! The beef teriyaki dish was perfect. The sauce is top quality, it was sweet and light…I wish I could bottle it up and take it home. The shrimp tempura is a must order. Overall the best meal we’ve had in a while. We are already planning to go back next week!

Ate here on our last day before flying out that evening. I was hesitant about getting “plain” Japanese food in Kauai, but this place is great (anything but plain). Prices are reasonable, portions are generous and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner – flew home full.

We came here before flying out and we are so sorry we did not have them sooner. Amazing food. Seriously, it was so good we ate it all with no thoughts of even stopping to take photos. The mackerel was done simply and perfectly. The tempura was fried not oily. Crispy!!! We will make this our first stop next time we are in Kauai!

I had dinner there with my girl friend. I haven’t been there since they renovated, I was so excited, but the guy who was the host was so rude. He told my friend and I before we sat down that we understood that we had only an 1 1/2 to eat. He said we had to rush but not choke on our food. The restaurant seemed to be slowing down so I asked if we still had an 1 1/2 to eat and he said everyone has an 1 1/2 to eat. and I seen other people that was there before us and they was still there when we left. I was shocked on how rude he was. I live here my whole life and I never was told at any restaurant that I had an 1 1/2 to eat my food. I am so disappointed in Kiibo, I would never go there again.

Excellent food. The minimalist ambience was relaxing. Service was prompt and kind. Food portions were very generous. You’ll leave full and content I guarantee it. Try the matcha IPA and the agedashi katsu, it’s delicious.

Food was decent, servers were nice but the overall experience was poor and we will not go back. Not comfortable in a restaurant where the entire staff is wearing masks, just a constant reminder of bad times that should be behind us. It is hard to engage your server or understand them with a mask on. Also, my date does not eat meat and they refused to do any substitutions. So she order plain Ramen Noodles in broth and asked for a side order of Tofu and Vegetable Tempura. The server brought out Ramen with chicken in it and told my date she should just pick the chicken out of it. They also never brought out the Tofu and Tempura. We just paid the check and left. Too bad…could be a great spot if were better.

Great Japanese food here. The waitress was super helpful and even though they didn’t have everything available, the food we ordered was delicious! The tofu and shrimp was great and my companion loved the teriyaki beef.
