Staff was awesome. Goat cheese with fig preserves was awesome. We enjoyed all our food and will definitely come back again. Only down side is the parking is a bit crazy. We felt like we parked in someone yard because the parking lot was a bit small. Other than that, no complaints at all! Just a nice simple evening out.

Ketch 55 was an end to end amazing experience. Definitely get there for when they open and expect a line. Our waitress was the best! She was knowledgeable on the whole menu and made great recommendations. The soup was a huge generous portion, as was the seafood platter, oysters and broiled fish. The food was fresh, delicious and perfectly cooked. No one had room for dessert but those looked fantastic as well. Expect to eat a lot and for the whole experience to be mouthwatering. We’ll definitely be back!

Good service very friendly! Some rubbery shrimp, cold mashed potatoes, had to have a half dozen mussels replaced because they were unopened. Cole slaw was basically crunchy Mayo, cannot recommend. The crab cake wasn’t bad, but the bun could have used some sauce.

Seating is first come first serve. But, even if you have to wait, it is worth it! We came as a large group and it was probably a disruption to their flow of how they prefer things, however the staff was very accommodating, polite, and all around wonderful at their job.

We were trying to decide where to go to dinner in Avon and Ketch 55 was one of the few places we haven’t tried so we gave it a shot. It was pretty decent. Server was great. Food was pretty good too. Got the shrimp bangers for an appetizer. Our party loved them.

My family and I have been coming here for years and it’s always been good- food and service, however we were back this evening for dinner and had the absolute worst service. Our server, Richard L., gave our party of 8 an attitude the ENTIRE time. If it weren’t for my mother having cancer and not wanting to cause a scene, I would’ve said all of this to the manager before we left so I’m posting here to warn anyone who has him as a server. Let’s just say, when we kindly asked if we had the option to split up the checks he said “nope”…(what kind of restaurant expects 8 adults to make one person pay for everyone? This is definitely new after going several times in the past), so we say that we aren’t used to that because we typically are always allowed to split up the checks, he says “you have a calculator, don’t you?” and walks away. The food is great but there are plenty of great restaurants in the OBX that ALSO have great service, and we are absolutely not coming back until they get rid of this server. Also maybe not the best idea to have a waiter that can’t hear 90% of what you’re saying?
