Went in, via the drive thru, today at around 12:30-1PM, and ordered a shrimp combo and a “Kat Daddy”, which is two pieces of fried fish and shrimp etoufee. Once I drove home, which is off of Weaver Road, therefore, not a quick jaunt, I came to the realization that my etoufee or the rice within was spoiled. I immediately return and am advised that I need to speak to the manager. After a short wait, the manager, Gordon appears at the window. White hair, white beard. I explain to him that either the etoufee is spoiled or the rice is. As I’m midway through explaining, why I believe the entree isn’t any good, he interrupts, and asks me if I want gumbo. I brush the interruption off and continue to explain that there were bubbles in the dish and that the dish had a stinky smell, which are both my justifications as to why I believe that something isn’t right. He responds anxiously, “I just cooked this this morning.” I again try to explain to him that something has gone awry with the dish, and ask him, to smell it. He smells it and defensively affirms, “yea, this was cooked this morning.” Then, he asks yet again in a short tone, “do you want gumbo?” Before he leaves the window, I ask that the gumbo and rice not be served together, like the etoufee and rice were, as I know something’s not good, either the rice or the etoufee, so I didn’t wish to take any chances with consuming spoiled/sour food. After not truly hearing me nor my concerns out in their totality, I ask the manager his name. He responds in a dismissive tone, “Gordon, my name is Gordon” , then, he slams, yes, slams the front window closed. I’ve not lived in the state of Louisiana/home in 23 years, due to my active military status, and to be met with such disrespect, disregard, and disdain, as I’m attempting to explain that they’re selling something spoiled was not only shocking, but an extremely bizarre response. As an eatery your responsible for providing a service as well as commodity, and if your commodity is not viable, then, your service should immediately kick in to overdrive, to acknowledge the problem, be courteous, and possibly resolve the possible issue, and it wasn’t. I’m a busy mom, with a professional career. Therefore, I move and operate with a purpose in everything I do, because every moment, every interaction means time out of my day, time that can be utilized to be productive, positive, and this entire situation drained me. Not only was Gordon unprofessional, but the replacement dish, the gumbo, was presented in the most slovenly way, spillage down the sides of the entire container, greasy, non-skimmed coating over it, in a thick roux, not fully cooked long enough because we were able to recognize the texture, the horrid taste, and smell of it. Being originally from the New Orleans area, one knows a good gumbo, and anyone that cooks, knows that it is not when you cook a dish, it’s how you store it, which determines its shelf life/viability over time. Please beware of consuming anything that is not fried, as the rice, etoufee, and gumbo were all problematic. In addition, the manager was problematic as well. As a leader/manager of subordinates, who is supposed to be there to lead as an example, Gordon was the least professional and inept communicator of everyone I came into contact with at this location. Very sad, as we’re just relocating to town/back to Louisiana, and are trying out spots, because we do eat out several times a week, but attempt to forego traditional hamburger joints.

I think the flavors would have rated more if the food that I received had been freshly cooked and hot. Grand loves the place. I’m afraid to try again.

Nice place to drive up, order shrimp burgers. Shrimp could have been cooked a little longer. While eating, good at first bite, but found a soft hair in-between bun and shrimp, was not interested after this.

Love the shrimp burgers! I usually stick with fish or shrimp. Started paying attention to the receipts and noticed I was being charged for tartar sauce and extra percentage charge for using any kind of card instead of cash.

The customer service was terrible! My husband and I ordered a #6 which consist of 2 cat fish and 8 shrimp and was told that we had a choice of one small cocktail or tartar sauce, either or not one of each.. and if we wanted the other we would have to pay 50 cents extra. Now I know that 50 cents is a small amount to have to pay extra, but I always thought that you get a cocktail sauce for the shrimp and tartar sauce for the fish but we were rudely told no. I would not recommend this place…and the food and the cocktail sauce does not taste that great at all
