I just started going here more regularly. Their food has been consistently good. Their roll menu is nicely varied. Don’t expect any exotic fish here.

Fantastic sushi and great bento box for lunch . With too around $80 for lunch for 2 people. So a little on the pricey side. But we’ll worth it if you want quality sushi. Service was good also.

Kaigan Sushi is the best Sushi restaurant I’ve been to. The service is amazing and the food was even better. Kaigan Sushi has a very pleasant atmosphere and is relaxing to be in.

Benicia has so many restaurant choices. This one is a must try! A small family owned Japanese restaurant for dine in and take out. You can sit at the small Sushi counter or at a table in the small dining room. The people are nice and friendly and they have a good selection of Sushi Rolls and other dishes. We made a reservation just in case. Free parking is on the street. Casual dining for family, business and date nights.

The salmon melted in my mouth. So delicious! We went at lunch on a Saturday. The service was absolutely fantastic and genuine. The fish was fresh and so was the wasabi. I’m from Santa Cruz originally and currently am in Roseville… I wish we had more restaurants at this caliber. So good!

I don’t know what happened, but I have to change my review. I’m certain they served us spoiled food. The maguro nigiri had lost its color and was soft. The tamago nigiri crumbled. The sukiyaki was tasteless. The age tofu tasted bitter. Age tofu is also supposed to be coated in starch. This dish was more like atsuage.

We had the most terrible lunch I have had in years today at Kalgan Sushi. The soup was awful. The soggy battered tempura which consisted of a tiny sliver of shrimp, three thick slices of potato, one tiny slice of carrot, and a partial slice of oversized zucchini, was probably the most disgusting tempura I have been served anywhere. We were also served the tiniest portion of beef teriyaki possible, which did not matter much to me, because both the meat and sauce were so bad I could not eat it anyway. My husband ate mine, even though he said he did not like it, but he was hungry. We were also served hard dry gyoza, and microwaved edamame beans, and big mugs of weak tea. After paying our $71.00 bill, we escaped to the Double Rainbow Ice Cream shop next door. We have been searching for a good, authentic Japanese restaurant, but so far, we have been totally unsuccessful.
