Small little spot. 4 chairs at a bar top for seating. 2 tables outside to eat. Food was good. Shrimp pasta very spicy. Good flavor though. Wish the shrimp were larger. Instead, they were very tiny. Beef patties were delicious. Order a large Mac n cheese. Yummmmy. Order ahead. It does take awhile.

Ordered Brown Stew chicken with a spicy beef patty and coco bread. Everything was very good. It took about 30 mins to prepare, so I suggest ordering ahead. The cashier was pleasant . My meal came with the standard rice and peas, plantain, and vegetables. I enjoyed the vegetables because they were a mix, not just cabbage, which I love. The portion size was good as well. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are on this side of town.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I order jerk chicken with rice and peas and gravey over rice and cabbage and i also asked to add plantain. My next order was Curry goat…with rice and peas and cabbage…also add plantains. I get my food home and there is no cabbage! The food cost 40 bucks! When I took it back the lady says she didn’t hear me say cabbage and some don’t like it. Well I did say it and I’m not some. The fact she made the decision

I have enjoyed this food and I was shocked to know when I return to buy a goat dinner that there are only one size, you get what you get and it was horrible, the youth at counter who took my order was not eager to help (shock at the price for no size serving with the price clearly been over priced , needless to say the goat was so spicy my father in law could not complete the the dinner. My wife who I alway pay more for the oxtails ( when there were option on serving size) was completely unhappy with the amount for $26 dollars , the only thing I could think of is the person who prepared the food left or quit or there new owners , the only issue with ppl who don’t know what real Jamaican food should taste like will not not be able to know the difference the cabbage was hard , the rice was hard and beside the goat being spicy It had a fresh taste like it didn’t marinate long enough , Jamaican food encase no one know is it all about preparation and time,to get that taste ( not Indian heat hot) but all the ingredients that comes with it, I had a piece of ginger in my goat that looked like goat but was clearly a large chunk of ginger , which left me short on the goat, so it’s lucky for them there by a college with kids who may not know the true meaning of yard food ( raised in a Jamaican house ) so I can attest to good food , and with the business of fast food all around them, they can just as well get a way it~ I won’t be back and it’s not just about price , but if your going to charge those prices at least let it be good , give serving option , one size dose not fit all

So the ONLY reason I’m giving it 4/5 is the coco bread. The first and second time I ordered from here the coco bread was PHENOMENAL enough to keep wanting to order its. Ordered a third time, coco bread tasted as if stayed in a plastic bag all day, just BAD overall. Decided to give another chance, BOOM, bread was amazing – you can tell it’s a different baker or they just ran out and grabbed it from a grocery store.

As a Jamaican woman this place and food is disappointing!!! I ordered $60 plus (Not including the Doordash charges) of food via Doordash. I noticed my desert was substituted from a sweet potato to a coconut desert. I called the store and some nasty young girl hung up (Slammed the phone receiver down) the minute I said I’m calling about a Doordash order. Of course I called back again and just so we were clear my Pataw come out. A Trini woman answer the phone and I asked her why the young woman hang up on me and she said the line died. Of course that was the not the truth and she knew I knew and immediately handed the phone to an older Jamaican woman. I asked again why this woman hung up on me and this one said the line accidentally hung up. Yea right! I told her my desert was changed and I do not want the coconut. Of course you would think a refund would come after speaking with the shop. Nope. I did not see an adjustment to my bill other that the initial adjustment from the desert swap. Needless to say I had to contact Doordash and they issued me a refund of the food I never got nor wanted. Also, the food needs a some Maggi’s seasoning, coconut milk for the rice and peas, scallion, thyme, country pepper and seasoning for everything I ordered. The food taste like a young JA preteen who is learning to cook was in the kitchen. My 16 y/o Pickney can make better food than these Smaddy. The Jerk Chicken is baked not grilled, Curry Chicken look like a light skin person. Ginger and Pineapple juice halfway good (don’t taste pineapple and barely taste the ginger), the rice was soggy like it was cooked with to much water and taste like no coconut milk was added to the rice so it can balance out the flavor and consistency alongside the fresh herbs. Also two sides means two sides. Rice, meat and two sides are standard in a plate of food. Rice is not a side. Smh. The food was like cardboard, the people undesirable (if you lie about hanging up on a customer) and last but not least a total waste of my money. Save your money and drive to downtown bmore city.

I stopped in by chance because my 88 yr old mom asked “have you ever heard of curry chicken?” I told her I’d try to find her some for dinner. Not being a fan of island food I just remembered seeing this place and decided to give it a try. The restaurant was clean and tidy and the service was kind. I expected to just get the curry chicken but the dinner also came with nice vegetables and plantains, great value! As I opened the container to plate the food for my mother the aromas hit me and I just had to give a try, making sure it was ok for mom of course . That food was SO delicious and FLAVORFUL, I ended up eating about half of moms food. Mom is from the old school and super picky and she cleared her plate in complete silence and said she “REALLY enjoyed it”. I called at least two people to tell them about it and how the food tasted like grandma’s cooking. And just like that, I went from not being a fan to being an absolute fan of K and T island taste.

I’m not sure what happened with the bad experiences at this place. But I always have good food. I usually get the bbq chicken at this place with white rice and Mac and cheese. They leave enough sauce with the chicken to satisfy anyone. Without the additional sauce they give you in a cup being added on. I hope this business keeps its current clients. I see a common trend of impatience in the one star reviews. This isn’t a fast food place, they do actually care about the food they give thier customers.

This is my first time ordering from here and I must say my husband and I were very pleased. The portions were enough for both of us and still had leftovers. And the food was very tasty…Thank you to the Cooks, Customer Service, etc. This is our new spot!!!
