Delicious sushi, highly recommended! Keep in mind that every floor of Juku has its own menu and you need to make reservations according to specific menu/floor. We selected the Straylight menu, and definitely coming back to try out Omakase next time we are in New York. Spicy tuna(left on the picture) and spicy scallops rolls(on the right) are great, we also got oysters, and I have no idea what they used for sauce, but that was amazing. If you’re reading this you have to go and check it out. To be honest sushi don’t look that great, but the taste is above and beyond my expectations.

A group of us went here on a whim, stumbling upon it. Straylight was awesome. Great vibe and decor. I was constantly checking Shazam. We agreed this will be a place we come back to.

Skip Joe’s and Peachy’s come straight here. Head straight down the pink stairs to Straylight, Juku’s intimate, cozy secret bar for cocktails. We had drinks and an amazing sesame gelato with matcha and crisped rice in a chilled bowl with fresh strawberries. Thoughtful and well balanced. Came here after a pretty subpar meal at Joe’s. Who needs soup dumplings when you can have this ambiance! Enjoy.

We ate at the Straylight level and had just about everything on the small menu because I was there with my starving 21 year old son who just spent an afternoon at the Pokemon Go Fest, lol. Everything was delicious. We shared the sashimi, sushi rice, spicy scallop rolls, alaska salmon avocado, hokkaido uni. My favorite was the sashimi and the super creamy bite size hokkaido uni. I wasn’t as much a fan of the spicy scallop rolls just because I love the natural sweetness of fresh scallops and you can’t taste the scallops as much with the spicy sauce. In hindsight, I should have got my own sashimi order. It was so fresh and delish. Ambience was a moody, cool vibe. But a bit too dark down in the Straylight level as I would have liked to see my food better! Perhaps some brighter table top lighting?

Some of the best sushi I’ve had in NYC. We had some delicious drinks in their unique underground bar called Straylight. The decor and ambiance was fantastic and the fish was incredibly fresh and tasty.

Juku is an absolutely incredible experience. The food is astonishing and easily Michelin-star worthy (even the fried chicken was the best we have ever had). The service is the best of the best, truly defines the top-tier of elegance. My family and I have never had a meal or experience like Juku in a restaurant ever before. The vibe is immaculate as interesting art hangs in every corner, mood lighting illuminates your company, and an upbeat but relaxed beat will make you subconsciously groove in your seat. You can bring any sea-food adverse person here and they will quickly change their tune. The seafood at Juku is masterfully sourced and is so fresh there is absolutely no “fishy” taste to their expertly crafted Sushi. I can’t rave about this place highly enough. There is no other restaurant in Manhattan like Juku. Treat yourself and make a reservation this weekend.

We’ve had several omakase experiences in New York, and this was the most fun and delicious. The sushi counter has its own floor upstairs, with two chefs serving ten seats. The lighting and music were both low key but endearing.

Quite possibly one of my favorite omakase experiences in NYC post pandemic. The service at this restaurant is top notch, price point for the omakase experience was very fair. Omakase is a 17 piece chef’s choice menu with fish sourced mainly from Japan and various other regions. Our chef Kei was knowledgeable and diligent with his craft. Some notable pieces were the sea scallop, sea shrimp, diced mackerel with ginger and scallion, and Toro with spicy scallion nigiri sushi. The manager Eugene was very friendly and helpful with the selection of sake pairings for our meal. Definitely worth another visit for a special occasion.

This place is a true delight, the interior design is outstanding and the cocktails are truly unique. The hospitality is outstanding as well, their attention to detail is like none other. I highly recommend this place. I have not had the opportunity yet to try their food but I plan to be back soon for that. This place does it right definitely go there and try their drinks, also their wine list is amazing!
