The Bean Factory, established in 2001, is an independently owned, local coffee shop and roastery in St. Paul. When we bought the vacant building we envisioned a specialty coffee shop serving the community by bringing only the best coffees, roasted to perfection. We are dedicated to providing our customers with the highest quality coffee beans from a variety of different countries. Each bean is carefully roasted to achieve its unique flavor profile. We pride ourselves in our knowledge of the coffees we serve. Originally roasting in a 6 lb roaster we now roast every bean on the premises’ in a 25 kilo Probat small batch roaster due to the fantastic community support we have received. Thank You for enjoying our passion with us.
Roasted-on-site beans, live music & pastries draw fans at this cozy, arty coffee shop. Based on 607 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.8 stars. Price $

Great place. Coffee is good. Parking is on the busier street so can be a little challenge, but worth the walk if you have to park a little further away. Food, coffee, a good place to meet and read. They only serve massive cappuccinos and lattes (A 20oz cappuccino is a bit of an odd thing) but the 4oz Cortados are well made

This is a fantastic place to hang out at with ample seating outside (plenty in the shade) and some seating inside. The coffee is fabulous and the staff is very friendly. My favorite drink there so far is cold-press coffee with banana and maple added, topped with oat milk. Delicious.

A perfect place to go if you’re looking for some genuine coffeehouse vibes. Cute decoration, lots of art, and a cozy atmosphere. You can also buy bulk beans! Tables are a little small, but that might seriously be the only negative of this place. The baristas were super kind and courteous. They were quick and friendly. What more can you ask for!

Prices were very reasonable and the coffee was good! The dark chocolate is very bitter, so keep that in mind. The staff were really friendly and were quick to get the orders out. The patio is dog friendly 🙂

Can’t say enough about this coffee shop. The vibes are outstanding and the coffee is delicious. Simple, straight-forward, and it’s all tasty! The pastries selection is usually pretty good if somewhat limited. You’ll want to sit out on the patio if the weather is nice. Sometimes there is live music out on the patio. The shop is also very eco-conscious with composting on site and all to-go receptacles are compostable through city composting programs.

Came to the Minneapolis/St Paul area for a family event, and decided to venture into the neighborhood to find a local coffee shop. When I drove up to JS Bean Factory and saw their outside patio, I knew this was the place. I read that they roasted their own beans, and could see the roastery in the second room which also has indoor seating. The outside patio is the spot to be, and it looks like a great many people know this.

When my wife and I arrived at JS Bean Factory today, we parked in the neighborhood and hoped for the best with a crowded coffee shop. We snagged the smaller of two empty tables on the patio, and I headed inside to place my order.

There are three great coffee shops in Saint Paul, and this is one of them. Staff is convivial and efficient. The coffee is roasted in site, and the overall quality is off the charts. They have a gorgeous outdoor area in the summer. A neighborhood legend.

I love being able to sit outside underneath the trees with a great latte! Also as someone with mobility issues appreciate the concrete areas.
