Steaks were very good. Overall food acceptable. This place could be really great with evidence of stronger management. Overall cleanliness could have been better. A glance at the galley on my way out made me rethink my decision to eat here. It looked like a restaurant who was going through an hour wait list on a Saturday night. Not like a sparsely seated Thursday early evening. The location is fantastic and the staff very friendly with a great teamwork attitude. The only thing missing would be a more involved floor manager. I saw none, and the lack of overall cleanliness…dirty front doors..sticky bathroom floors..galley in shambles..it was more than evident there was noone who was overseeing the operation.

The bad reviews kept me away from this place for a long time, but I’m glad I finally caved and gave it a shot. Saturday night, 7pm. Pretty nice atmosphere, the place smelled great, and our waiter – Chris – was very attentive but not overly so. The menu really is perfect, on paper. I had the aged prime rib with macaroni and it was very good, just a little bit bland, but I enjoyed it and would order again. I can’t speak for any one else’s experience, but mine was pretty good and I will definitely go back. When you think about how close they are to the theater, if they can just iron out some of the things other folks have complained about, they’ll be the perfect restaurant for dinner and a movie. Give em a chance.

Our first time, disappointed. Salads took 20-25 minutes and our entrees came before we could pick up our forks to eat the salad. I ordered the signature sirloin (marinated) medium rare. When I cut in the center it was brown. I sent it back. My husband’s steak was overcooked as well but he ate his. It came back with the correct temperature but the wrong steak, she (the server not the manager) brought back a regular sirloin. The manager came by to see if my husband needed more water, not to ask about my steak, which told me she didn’t know anything about it, so I told her. She apologized and said she would take it off the check. She offer free dessert. She never returned with water for my husband. Server brought the check with the steak still on it, which indicated that she and the manager never communicated. That was corrected. The restaurant wasn’t even half full. Disappointing.

Second time going here. They are never crowded but servers take forever to wait on you and don’t check back with you after food comes. My mother waited fifteen to twenty minutes for a slice of pie only for it to be room temperature and not cold as it should’ve been. To top everything womens bathroom was low on toilet tissue and when i advised a waitress after she tried her best to avoid me she went to go tell the hostess. Food never comes out steaming hot and its not worth the prices. Also, i noticed a waitress openly eating in the kitchen while i was passing by to the restrooms. Eat here at your own risk!

We came to JP’s after being told the wait at our first-choice restaurant would be close to an hour. JP’s is very nicely decorated and looks very classy, especially the waiting area. We were seated at our table in under 5min which was expected since the restaurant was half empty at about 8:30pm on a Saturday night. We had a nice server, but she didn’t check up on us often and was nowhere to be found when drink refills or other service was needed. Two meals were brought out rather quickly, but then more than 20min elapsed before the remaining meals were delivered (by different servers). In fact, the first two meals were already eaten by the time the rest were brought to the table. These meals must’ve been sitting in the kitchen awhile since they were not warm as you’d expect. The presentation of all the entrees was very nice, but the flavors were lacking according to everyone in our party. We also ordered dessert, but then had to flag down our server after 20mins to request the check and forego the dessert. She said the kitchen staff was just putting it all together, but it still took another 10mins for the desserts to arrive. Nonetheless, the desserts were decent, but for the price we were expecting a better. My wife and I remembered why it had been so long since the first time we visited this restaurant. The service was friendly, but slow and the food overpriced and unspectacular. In hindsight, had we waited to be seated at our first-choice restaurant, we would have easily finished dinner and still made it home half-an-hour earlier. I hope management can improve this restaurant as we need more options in Northeast Columbia.

We ordered drinks which turned out too sweet but we just added water and continued with our orders. I ordered a ribeye medium rare. He ordered a burger medium well.

Lousy lousy, lousy. Waited practically an hour, slow service, reordered food twice waitress finally came back both time, no prime ribs, no steak, no salmon. Never did get our drinks. Why are you still in business. 9pm on a Saturday night, restaurant practically empty and the bar tender is in la la land, chatting smoking, just nonresponsive to your request. This is by far the worse restaurant I have seen in quite a while. We are from out of town, party of 5 and couldn’t even get a hamburger for the kids. I would not recommend this place to anybody. It should be close ASAP.

Mother’s Day: 60+ minute wait. I expected a wait because of the holiday- Sure, it happens, I get it- but we were waiting while the restaurant was half empty. It makes the wait even more unseemly when you’re waiting over an hour staring at 16 empty booths.
