This is kind of a hidden gem. They have a nice selection of dip sandwiches. The beef dip was very good. Shaved beef on a roll with a gravy dipping sauce. Their deli style coleslaw and pickles are excellent! Both remind me of the coleslaw and pickles at Johnnie’s pastrami in Culver City. That was a surprise. Service was good. Atmosphere was a bit of a throw back to the 70’s. Plenty of parking. Prices are a bit high but what isn’t these days. I don’t live close by but will be back.

The lady working there is very vibrant and welcoming. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the food. I got a breakfast meal for lunch, and onlythe bacon had flavor – a not necessarily groundbreaking achievement, especially for a place that has supposedly been open for 70 years (according to the aforementioned lady).

I’ve lived in S. El Monte for years and didn’t know this gem was in my back yard. It has a diner feel with a full bar and Margaret is an amazing host. They have all day breakfast and several dip sandwiches, and specialty sandwiches. The have dinner plates and burgers. I ordered a Mimi sandwich, corned beef with coleslaw and cheese on wheat roll. Very delicious. My brother had a Rueben Sandwich and my brother said it was very tasty. Suffice to say we ate everything on our plates. Great place and happy I came here.

I love this lil mom n pop restaurant. The foods good, and the restaurant is super clean and neat. It has a very cool vintage vibe. The only downfall is the service is extremely slow but the owner has a great personality and therefore, its downfall is almost forgiving. I recommend it if you aren’t in a rush. On the plus side, it’s got a cool little bar with a jukebox n all!

My first time being here and I definitely coming back the service was amazing don’t know if he was the owner or staff but regardless service A+! Didn’t get to get a drink but definitely coming back later to get a drink muffins where buttered when they came out, that’s the customer service that goes a long way for me fried hash was crispy and delicious but beware obviously a little on the oily side will keep updating
