The story of John’s place began August 15, 1980 when newlyweds John and Jenny opened a walk up burger stand called Imperial Burgers in Bellflower, California. Their goal was simple. Work hard and serve the community with food they were proud of at everyday prices. Almost 40 years have passed and not much has changed. With several restaurants throughout Southern California and more opening planned for the future, the success of John’s Place has surpassed the founders’ original dreams. We invite you to come in, enjoy the moment and if you get lucky, you might just spot those retired newlyweds sitting at a booth smiling and greeting their customers that have become like family throughout the years!

Our group stopped by for a bite after a hike. This place has an old diner feel and luckily we snagged the big booth in the back.

Food is pretty good. Prices are a little high for what you get but not too bad. Inside is clean and well kept. Drive thru can take a bit but they’re making the food fresh so I think it’s worth the wait. I don’t think I would drive to eat here specifically but if I’m in the area, I’ll stop by.

Old style Cafe. Bigger crowds for breakfast and lunch. Established place with a vintage feel. Mostly long-time (older) crowd but not exclusively. Dedicate, long term patrons keep coming back for the consistent comfort food. Very nice staff and clean interior. Maybe a little dated inside but who cares? Good food, clean, nice staff is a positive in my book

Really good blend of Mexican and American food. The breakfast burritos definitely make it worth your while, although don’t expect the salsa to be spicy! It has an interesting blend of drive thru and diner sitting which is useful whether you want that classic sit down experience or are on the go. Will stop here next time I’m in town.

So we come to this area on a regular to visit family at the cemetery, first time trying the breakfast burrito. From a fat boys perspective it was not good. No flavor even tho it has tomatoes and jalapeños. No homemade salsa? Disappointed. The only thing it had going for it was the size. Looks like flavor town skipped this place

It was okay food. Your standard generic cafe. I got the chorizo breakfast burrito. It wasn’t the best, but it also wasn’t the worst, but for $13 dollars, I expected a bigger, if not better, tasting burrito. Either way it hit the spot after spending the weekend at Born Free Motor ycle Show.

We are so pleased to have found this place. Unlike a typical restaurant, it is now where we look forward to going. The food is delicious, portions are generous, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is very pleasant.
