Great local comfort food joint with food that lives up to all its many nominations and awards. Was busy on Sunday at noon, but not a long a line and had no trouble finding a table. Staff was friendly and didn’t mind answering questions. Ordered meatloaf w/ macaroni, grit cake, & creole red beans; hamburger steak w/ macaroni & sweet potatoes; and the chocolate peanut butter torte. It was all fantastic, with the macaroni, red beans, and torte being particular standouts. Menu does change, especially with what deserts are available, so don’t rely too much on the pictures here.

Even with the long line, the staff was amazingly helpful and patient with us as we made our selections. Everything was good. We do not prefer white meat, but the Greek Chicken had a good flavor. The Meatloaf was definitely the star!

Really fun spot, offering lots of things but their meat and three (or one or two, if you’re less of a giant-portions fan) is what gives you a ton of choice across a variety of meats (which includes traditional BBQ options, as well as several Greek-inspired dishes and interesting options like chicken pot pie) as well as choice from a long list of varied sides.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Johnny’s Restaurant, and I must say, their fried green tomatoes were a delightful surprise – crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor. And their pot pie was simply comforting and delicious, reminding me of homemade goodness. A satisfying experience that I’ll definitely be coming back for!

I love love love everything that I got from Johnny’s. I enjoy single veggies that I tired. Fried green tomatoes fried really nicely. Spinach and chickpeas were amazing. Chicken pot pie and fried shrimp were so great.

I was hungry as a teenage boy. I ordered the chicken pot pie and my wife ordered the pot roast. I had the spring peas and fried green tomatoes. Everything was wonderful. I’m picky on the fried green tomatoes so I was surprised they were as good as they are. I loved the chicken pot pie was so good I forgot to offer any to my wife. To be fair, she forgot to offer any pot roast. Neither of us was able to finish what we offered. We were passing through and did not have a way to take leftovers. It hurt to leave it there.

Food was outstanding. Ranks in the top 5 meat and three places on my list. Fried green tomatoes were awesome. Greek chicken was tender and flavorful. My biggest complaint is not about the food. As busy as this place is, it’s so loud you can’t carry on a conversation. Also, it didn’t appear to be handicapped accessible.
