It’s been almost 10 yrs since my last visit to Johnny Rockets in San Marcos. It was good then, and my recent visit on 08/27/23 with a friend did not let me down. The burgers, while on the smallish size, were delicious and filling. The onion rings were fried to perfection , and tasted amazing. I love the retro fill of this place.

Only thing good here was the taste of the burger. The size is another thing. All our burger patties were the same size, the kids sliders and the adult burgers. I was extremely disappointed that they didn’t have onion rings. That’s one thing I love to have whenever possible. The server was nice but we had to keep asking for refills.

After a day of shopping, we decided to give Johnny Rockets another chance, as our previous visit, the service was lacking. We are glad we did!! Our server, Allan was very attentive, friendly, and had great recommendations! We enjoyed the burgers, especially the Smokehouse. Highly recommend you stop here next time you’re in San Marcos.

Got there right at opening time of 12pm. We were the first table in there and it took forever to get our food. I believe it was the owner who was seating everyone and took our order. Our table ordered kids chicken fingers, hot dog with fries, chili cheese fries, and bacon cheese fries. The chili cheese fries arrived cold. We did ask for them to be heated up and they were but it just took forever. There was no service really, never got drink refills and when we asked for to go containers and our bill it seemed that we were bothering the server. Probably won’t go back.

The weather was hot just stop in with the kids for a milkshake, which was great! I didn’t have one, but the hamburgers looked great. It was a Saturday so the place was crowded it took a little too long just to get shakes.

Service was friendly but it was lacking as they seemed understaffed. Food tasted good but the burgers were very small and the veggies were a joke (I had one slice of tomato and one pickle on my burger). This wasn’t worth the price point at all, food took a while to come out and you could tell the atmosphere was tense. Recommend you go somewhere else for lunch.

Horrible service, up charged me more for caramelized onions that was nonexistent in my burger. I also ordered fries after my burger came and never received that. Not once did the guy come to ask if me and my daughter were good. But went to the table behind us 2-3 times asking them if everything was fine
