I had to drop off goods for a client in Crosby again, but I wasn’t even mad about the drive this time because I knew I’d end up at John E’s for dinner! I had the shrimp ravioli and gumbo tonight. They do not put okra in the gumbo ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Such a great flavor, and I’m so glad I got to have some. DELICIOUS! Like.. I wanted to lick the bowl. Then came the ravioli, which were cooked perfectly and had just enough of the sauce to complement all the seafood flavors. Time is absolutely well spent!

I had to drive out to Crosby to see a client and stopped at John E’s because I liked their marquee sign, and I have really been craving crawfish! Was not disappointed. Not only was the crawfish on point, but the service was fast and friendly. I got 3 lbs of the medium because I really just can’t do spicy.. but man, do I love the flavor! For me, the heat level was perfect. They were easy to break open, and the tails were juicy and cooked perfectly. I also had some fried pickles with ranch that seemed home made. Which normally I wouldn’t even say much about but they were freaking amazing too lol Had a great crunch to them and the ranch was perfect. I was eating alone and the manager stopped by a few times to make sure I was good while zipping across the restaurant helping this server or that one. It was just a really good vibe all the way around. I’ll absolutely go back.

Their crawfish, were amazing and great size. The shrimp and etouffee was outstanding as well. The manager was very helpful with our large take out order. Great experience all around.

Wow this place is SO good! I took my family here tonight and we weren’t disappointed. We tried the pistolettes and gator balls for our appetizers and we also had fried catfish, ettoufee & chicken in white wine sauce. My grandma said the chicken was juicy and the fresh string beans were some of the best she’d ever had! The fried food was battered well and my sons tore up their burger sliders too! Our server Ricki was also real sweet and took care of us like a pro even though she claimed to be new! If you like food with flavor, this is your place. I kept driving by on my way to work and thinking man I bet that place is good, and I’ll be damned if it wasn’t! We will surely be back. I came with my dad, my grandma & my two sons and only spent $100! We got whole meals and two appetizers! I am very I impressed with the fair pricing and impressed with John E’s as a whole! I can’t wait to come back and try something new!

Not fair to rate the restaurant as we decided not to wait. When we arrived the told us that they temporarily stopped seating people because their system was down. I asked which one. They said it was the one that communicated between the server and the kitchen. We waited for a little while but overhead talk another kitchen being backed up an hour and a half. They didn’t tell us this we just overhead conversation so we decided to leave. Guess they were all too young to remember using paper tickets

Best Crawfish in the Lake Houston Area. Crawfish are large, well-seasoned, and cooked properly. This is my favorite place to go. Plus, it’s a regular restaurant atmosphere…unlike some of the other Crawfish spots (No picnic benches and being forced to sit right next to other parties…and no long lines). Good boudain, pasta and fried foods too.

This is my moms favorite place to eat in Crosby so had to go try it with the wife and mom for mother’s day . Good food , good people , clean, menu has a good Variety to choose from . Most the time I have found when a place has too many styles of food and not specialized in a certain type it’s not good but there was 4 of us all ordered different type of food and 2 apatizers and it was all very good , will definitely be back and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal in the Crosby/barret area.

I only went here because my mother liked it. This place could use better wait staff. I order a Moscato with my dinner however, it was served at room temperature. When I asked the waitress for a cold Moscato (which is served chilled everywhere you order it) she continued to tell me that she infact made the drink. I continued to explain that I had to migrate ice from my water to it. She and no one else tried to accommodate me. So continued with my meal and a watered down Moscato. Don’t waist your money on mediocre service.

Not too bad. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Got the crawfish and it wasn’t bad at all, but it’s definitely not what I’m used to back in Louisiana. Filling and the crawfish were perfect size! I’ll be back for crawfish etouffee and the red beans and rice!
