A neighbor told us that we could get good gluten free fish and chips here. I had that and hubs had gluten free fried oysters. He really liked his. Mine was ok. Fish was a bit dry or over cooked. Fries were delicious, but if you need a low salt diet you might ask them to go easy, as the fries were a bit salty. I don’t remember too much about the menu, but I do know that shrimp, clams, and chicken come pre-breaded so those aren’t available gf. Will try it again.

The food was great with good sized portions. Service was good, too. I had a shrimp & chips, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly crispy. The fries look and taste homemade. Very good! This was our first time there and we’ll be back.

Stopped in for first time. Found the menu easy to read. We shared the Captains plate which you can choose 3 different fish courses. We ordered cod, clams, and scallops along with fries and cole slaw. Found sharing 1 plate was filling enough. Everything was very good. I would recommend anyone to try it. It has a bar for alcoholic drinks and wine selection for those who wish to try them.

Excellent fish and chips and fish tacos. Service is always friendly and efficient. The restaurant is nicely decorated in a nautical but modern style. In the summer months there’s outdoor seating available (umbrella tables) on the patio in back. This is a great place to take visitors for lunch or dinner.

Our family used to come here quite frequently and we were regulars for a little over two years. During that time we’ve seen two owners. While I wasn’t exactly in love with the old owners, I did enjoy their fresh wild fish and their other food. It was always fresh and the service was always friendly. New owners took over about a year ago and it breaks my heart to say they have driven this restaurant into the ground. They got rid of all the nice friendly girls who used to work here and were locals and replaced them with Hispanic staff who don’t speak the language well and are constantly rude. They replaced some of the menu items with burritos and other Mexican food and every time we come in now the special of the day is burritos. I don’t want to pay $20 a plate for burritos. The fish is no longer fresh. It comes frozen and they thaw it out in the kitchen. The chowder is now full of flour and grit. This is an expensive restaurant, around at least $20 per person. We just can’t justify coming here anymore. The new owners put in a huge big screen TV and play it all day long so the staff can watch TV while they work. This makes for very poor service. For these prices I would like to be able to speak to my family at the table without shouting over a TV. It’s really a shame. It’s conveniently located downtown, but now we just go down the street to Avenue Bread or we drive over to Coconut Kenny’s.

Joe’s has an old time pub kind of feel. When you walk in it has a nice bar on the right, a fireplace to the left, and a really nice patio out back for those warm days.

Food is really good as is the service. Nice decor but can get a bit loud if there is a lot of people. Has outdoor dining, serves beer & wine. Prices are a little spendy but portion sizes are about right for an average adult. Overall we really enjoy eating here.

We wanted to love this place based on the other reviews we read and our excitement over finding a new fish and chips place in Whatcom County. Sadly, it wasn’t to be. Great tarter, good fish, ok clam chowder, terrible calamari (size of French fries)

Located in downtown Lynden is our favorite place to go and enjoy great food. Live music is always fun to see too. Good burgers, fish, chowder, and quite possibly the best fish tacos around.
