Could not wait to finally try the “Q” at Joe’s, and definitely did not disappoint! Arrived early, shortly before opening anticipating a line, and was pleasantly surprised to find patrons already ordering inside. Parking was not an issue at this time, neither was the ordering, and promptness of receiving our order was unbelievably fast. Our food which we shared consisted of a Burnt Ends Plate, Sausage and Brisket Combo Plate, and for the road, a regular Z-Man (which was enormous) and a pulled pork sandwich. Everything was amazing, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and served by extraordinary staff! Loved the low key, relaxed, unassuming atmosphere, and the music selection was fantastic and tied it all together. All in all, we spent about 45 minutes eating in, and by the time we were out the door, Joe’s was well at capacity, the line was moving at lightning speed, and smiles were coming from all directions! We were so thrilled to have had the chance to eat in while passing through, and yet another incredible KC BBQ bucket list stop that will always be remembered!!

We went a little before opening to beat the line. We ordered the Z Man and the Ribs, and Burnt ends dinner with mac and cheese and onion rings. The Z Man was perfect! We truly know what all the fuss is about. The onion rings, ribs, and bient ends were also great. I can’t wait to go back again. They also sell their meat by the pound, and they some that are already cold for.your cooler to take with you.

OMG! These are by far the BEST Ribs and Burnt Ends we’ve had so far! They were tender, juicy, nice smoky flavor, paired with their original BBQ sauce, they were just perfect. This is a MUST whenever you pass by Kansas!

This place had quite a line but they worked fast and the food was fantastic!! I had the rocket pig! Wowza! My mother had the Carolina and she said 5 stars. The Mac and cheese kids meal was so good. Best mac and cheese I’ve had in a long time! Creamy and lost of flavor. My younger daughter had the z-man and said “finger lickin!” So glad we stopped by on our way out of town. Worth the long line to get in.

Let me say it is no secret that Joe’s Kansas City BBQ is awesome!!! It is apparent by the line that stretches along the entire front of the build. But, hey it is worth the 30 minute wait. They move the line a long at a good pace. Once inside the atmosphere is pretty cool. This place also sells gasoline, that’s right gas station convence store turned world renowned BBQ joint. The food is freakin’ awesome!!! The brisket was so tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The pulled pork awesome, the ribs awesome! The fries, potatoes salad and macaroni and cheese all awesome! Not my favorite was the Z-Man Sandwich, simply bursting with a multitude of flavors. And the cool thing about this sandwich is that the owner is donating $5 from every sandwich purchase to the people of Maui impacted by the wildfires. Thanks Joe’s Kansas City BBQ for the awesome sandwich and you generosity in giving back to the people. You folks are true American Heros in my book!! So if you are in Kansas City and want some of the best BBQ in the city and you want to help out the people in Maui, stop at Joe’ Kansas City BBQ load up on your favorites and please get at least one Z-Man Brisket sandwich. You will not regret it!!!!

My husband and I came here for the first time, arriving at around 530pm. There was no line and we went right up to the counter to order. There were a lot of really great options to choose from and I really would like to return to try some of their sandwiches.

I felt truly fortunate to dine at another restaurant graced by Anthony Bourdain’s presence. Joes Kansas City BBQ exceeded my expectations, offering delectable food and exceptional service. Throughout the duration of our visit, the establishment remained bustling with a consistent queue of customers, yet we received our order promptly. We waited in line for only around 10 minutes, it would have been worth to wait longer. The experience was a delight from start to finish. Blessed I could share it with my sister.

You don’t go to Joe’s original gas station barbecue location because the atmosphere is 5 stars. You go to this location to experience that authentic “this is how it started” vibe. It reminds you that good food can happen in unexpected places, even in your own back yard.

Food was super great. Staff was friendly and fast. Even with a line outside it went by fast. The beer counter while waiting in line helped. The allergy guide online is very helpful and great for our kids. I had the ribs and brisket dinner, after finishing that I wish I had a few more ribs. I dad-taxed a few. The Rocket Pig sandwich was also awesome.
