Great place with very good food and friendly staff. Shrimp tacos were delicious! Shrimp sandwich (po boy) was also so good. We had tortilla chips with salsa and queso and it all tasted amazing. Probably the best tortilla chips I’ve had in a while. Drinks were very good as well. Definitely recommend this place.

This was our first visit to JJ’s. I’m always a little nervous when trying a new restaurant as you never know what you’re getting into. We were greeted and seated within a minute of arrival by Heather who was also our server. She took great care of us. We ordered the New York Strip with shrimp and roasted potatoes and eggs with seasoned potatoes and fresh fruit. The steak was cooked just right and everything tasted so good.

Stopped on our way through town and happy we did so. Mushroom Swiss burger was delicious. Skinny margarita was good but expensive for the size. Restaurant was clean and service good.

I decided to try JJ’s Sports Bar and Grill and was completely amazed!!! I tried their fried sushi, which is a roll lightly battered in Tempura. then fried for a crunchy and tasty twist, then topped with a tasty sauce. So good! It’s totally not what I expected from sleepy Mt. Vernon, IL. Their menu has a rather large variety of burgers and brunch options as well as Mexican style meals. Great beer selection as well. Enjoy and drive safely!!!

I eat at this place every time I’m in town. Everything I have ordered has been great, especially the ribeye tacos! They have 3 different sizes of beers to accommodate guest. I watched several mixes drinks go out and they looked great especially the Bloody Mary, it had a bunch of extras on top. Oh did I mention they have breakfast items to order at anytime of the day or night! A must stop if you get anywhere close!

1st time here. We came on a Wednesday around 5 pm, the first week they was open, and it wasn’t busy at all. We was sat immediately but had to wait a little bit for our server to come over. Food was ok. Our server was good. They are still working stuff out.

Heard good things about this place. Tried it out, had grilled shrimp tacos and wife had a burger. Holy cow was this place the real deal. Service is friendly and prompt, food is on point. Coming back for brunch.

This is second time here. We are car haulers and thought we had found our fun spot when in the area… but I feel that it wasn’t fair when my husband asked for a double woodford reserve and was charged for triple. It stated on receipt 2 shots woodford 5.50 each. I questioned it and was told it’s 9$ a shot and they adjusted it. WTH??? It clearly stated 5.50 shot. ♀️. We split a meal with an extra house salad. With tip 90$ . Way overpriced. Not fair on their drink prices (which was on receipt). Then they added a 3.5% on using credit card. I work too hard for my $$ to be taken advantage of. Sorry. Applebees looking pretty good (for my date night)

JJs is one of the best new restaurants in the region. We have tried multiple dishes from there and have not had a plate we haven’t enjoyed. I highly recommend their pickle fries! Everything from the burgers to the chicken is delicious. I actually prefer their wings to others. The staff always takes care of us and we are never left waiting for a refill. You can expect the same quality food and service regardless of the time of day. Definitely one of my top picks for local restaurants.
