Great staff, and amazing food!! They let us sample multiple meats and sides for our upcoming wedding. My fiance loved it all. Hes not a huge potato salad person but liked theirs. I think our wedding guests will be very pleased! Owner John is also helpful and great.

First time dining here. The brisket sandwich was great! Service was spot on and the dining area was not too crowded. I will be going back to try the pulled pork. Only have 3 stars because I haven’t tried more items on the menu. Convenient stop while traveling highway 70.

Brisket was awesome and sauce had just the right bite to it. The ribs were also excellent. We did the 5 meat sampler for lunch and were stuffed. Should have packed half to go but neither me nor the wife could stop.

We are Louisiana folks and here for work my husband wanted to try it because we love BBQ and this place is as close to home when it come to BBQ the brisket is on point the ribs are on point the beans are the bomb potatoe salad is really good the Mac and cheese is great we eat here every other week and love it! Thank you for not vinegaring everything up as the other BBQ places do around here! This place is the best and will not go to another BBQ place in North Carolina! I believe it’s the best in the state! The staff is also amazing! Nice and polite! Thank you for giving us Louisiana folks good BBQ cause you want get it no where else in North Carolina! ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️ most definitely!

Oh this brisket is just like butter baby! Not sure how they cook it down in Texas, JJs know what they’re doing. Only have gotten food for pick up, but staff there is always super friendly. GREAT Place!

Food was fantastic! Restaurant was clean and the staff was incredibly kind and sweet. Only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because they only have 1 options for kids (hot dog). We would definitely return here and appreciate the great meal today.

You all!!!! You need to eat here! We ate the 5 meat sampler with 2 sides. Everything was on point! Delicious! These are the buisness we need to support, so everyone can enjoy their food for a long time. Well done JJ Texas BBQ!

While running errands around Havelock, we decided to stop for lunch. We decided on the meat sampler platteronce we arrived. Each sample was completely delicious in it’s own way. I really liked the smoked chicken and smoked brisket. The cole slaw and mac n cheese were an addition to the meat platter. A quaint place to enjoy some delicious food. We always enjoy this place.

We stopped on a whim heading to Morehead from New Bern and enjoyed our late lunch. The Mac and cheese was our favorite side (not too spicy) followed closely by the potato salad. My husband enjoyed the chopped pork sandwich (listed as pulled pork). It was eerily quiet inside, some Texas county music would have been a nice addition… Dessert too! We will be back on a future trip through town.
