First time here. Wife and I love Sichuan food and it’s very hard to find in NJ. We were pleasantly surprised how good the food was. Dan dan noodles is A staple as well as hot and sour soup. Both were very good however not the best we have had. All the dishes had strong sichuan peppercorn influence which gives you a unique flavor and a numb/tingly tongue. Heat levels seemed to be inline with the heat rating in the menu. Wontons with chili oil was tasty but lacked acid just slightly out of balance. Highlight was the traditional sichuan with beef. Seen in the photo with the rad base. Beef was incredible tender, flavor was popping, the tofu skins and seaweed was great to reset the palate. Service was a 3 out of 5. Regular restaurant but had a fast food feel to the service. Server does it all, waits tables, answers the phones, handles the take out. I will definitely be back due to the true Sichuan style of cooking.

It’s a great Sichuan food restaurant, delicious, beautiful decor, clean, and cheap. It is also friendly to people who cannot eat spicy food.

The food is authentic Chinese food. Love all the dishes I ordered. They may change the chief. The taste of the food is much better than before. Will definitely go back.

Below average food… Went for dinner, the place was completely empty on a Monday night. There were a few take-out orders, but nobody else came in to sit and eat. We were seated and given two used paper menus. We ordered our food and got it very timely (of course, we were the only people there). The food wasn’t that good though. The noodles were way too salty and the broccoli didn’t have enough sauce on it. The spring rolls were okay—they were a bit greasy, however. In conclusion , I probably won’t be coming back here anytime soon. The food wasn’t great by any means, and there was no “x-factor” or whatever that would make me come back.

The food was very good. A little spicey for me but obviously everyone has different tolerances. The decor was very nice and all the plates, tea cups and chop sticks we’re brand new. The service was not so great, but it was a Saturday night and they are still feeling out the staff they need I think. This is a very authentic Chinese menu so be prepared.

I wasted $100 on overpriced food that was incredibly underwhelming. There were two main issues with my experience:

I like to preface my reviews that I’ve been in the restaurant industry my entire life. I’ve been here a couple times but I haven’t been here in a while me and my friend were here earlier today and we ordered a general Taos chicken and an order of soup dumplings to split the chicken came out and it was terrible flavorless and the meat was inedible. With that being said we were extremely nice and just asked if we can replace the dish with beef and broccoli which we have gotten in the past and was OK. She didn’t even acknowledge when we told her about the chicken she just took the plate went to the back brought us the beef and broccoli on our soup dumplings and we kept saying thank you so much and she kept ignoring us needless to say she was extremely extremely extremely rude I probably saw her a total of twice the entire time. It beef and so much broccoli but it was OK at least It wasn’t flavorless. 20 minutes go by not a sight of the waitress we actually had to get off to the counter and go pay ourselves I have never once in my life never tipped but I absolutely did not tip her and the beef and broccoli was $22 my mind was absolutely blown I do not mind paying that price for a meal but the food was so mediocre and there was barely any beef could’ve gotten the frozen bag from Trader Joe’s and it would’ve tasted better we paid $42 for a small bubble tea beef and broccoli and an order of soup dumplings I proceeded to not tip her because I did not think that the service or her rudeness was worth a tip once again I always tip everywhere I go and I usually tip over 20% She came and ran after me and my friend and had the audacity to say was rude not to tip If she wasn’t the rudest person I’ve ever encountered in my life do not come here food is mediocre and the service is horrible

Bad food and really overpriced. soup smelled of chemicals or plastic. The only thing that tasted good were the dumplings. The bad aftertaste, and hence my review was solidified as I was walking out and saw a million dirty fingerprints on the door next to the handle. Would never come back here. You can tell that the owners/workers don’t care about this place or their customers.

Place is phenomenal. My family and I love sichuan peppercorn chicken and it’s hard to find a good restaurant that isn’t too far of a trip. This place is perfect, on par with Han Dynasty in Philadelphia which is my favorite. The flavorful spiciness along with that mouth tingling effect only sichuan pepper corns can give is balanced perfectly at Jinli. I’ll be coming here a lot more often in the future. 5 stars easily in my book.

Authentic Sichuan cuisine! Fish fillet soup was pleasantly refreshing. I’d recommend their Sichuan spicy chicken and scallion pancake, too. Their lamb plate and crab dish looked good as well. Can’t wait to try them next time.
