This is not the same Jim’s of 6 months ago. Everything about the cheese steak was bad.

The chef behind this grill is magic! His aura is awesome! Maybe the extra bit of love he cooks with is what makes the cheesesteaks here so delicious. We visited Philly for a few days, and on my nearly-grown “kid’s” bucket list was trying as many cheesesteaks as he could in 2 days time. He put more research into this venture than his last term paper. From Leo’s to Dalessandro’s to Ishkabibbles, we hit 6 places. Don’t get me wrong, his selections were 6/6 (all at the top of the cheesesteak game), but this Jim’s Steaks location was IT! My son went for no frills cheesesteaks with provolone, while I had mine with grilled peppers and onions. The onions here were food glitter. The bread was perfect. Everybody in line waiting on their food was doing the happy dance watching the chef cook. Two fellas left high-fiving each other. Not one person left without a beaming smile on their face ready to get their grub on. Honestly I would have hugged the chef if I could have. This stop was absolutely worth every bite. Props given.

Had the pepper cheesesteak with provolone and onion – it was good, no heat from the peppers. friendly service. Excellent onion rings with a good horseradish sauce.

First time here so I asked the cook what to try and he recommended the Whiz cheesesteak. Man I am so glad; it was so good. I didn’t think I was going to be able to finish it in one sitting but I polished it off.

Ehhh. This was not the best visit. My steak is usually good but wasn’t tonight. Not sure why. The staff was definitely less than professional. Private conversations on front line laced with profanity. Not good. UPDATE…Aug 2023…. Service was better but the sandwich was NOT. Didn’t get what I asked for and it was too small for the price. Won’t go back.

Rudest staff I’ve ever encountered. No one greeted us. I asked if I could pay, and everyone ignored me. I asked again, and the guy at the c register said yes, while continuing to wipe the counter. I had to walk out, and let my coworker finish the transaction. We were on break, and I’m a rush to get back to work. We were the only customers there, so it was no reason to be like that. Although the food is good, I’d never go back.

Not quite as cook as the Jim’s in Philly but still a pretty darn good cheesesteak. A bit pricey, but it IS Springfield! They don’t skimp on the meat though, and you can tell it’s high quality. The staff were very friendly.

I went here after a 14 hour work day. The kid at the register was nodding out the entire time. He very clearly just got high. As he was nodding out he tried to charge me 53 dollars for a steak and cheese fry because he hit the button too many times. He then took my credit card and proceeded to nod out again so he never swiped it. I had to bang on the counter to get his attention to get my card back. The poor woman next to him seemed to know exactly what was going on. It’s a shame this place is going downhill.

A SAD cheese steak hoagie, called at 10:30pm on a Saturday night and asked for a cheese steak hoagie with extra cheese, was told it would be ready in about 20 minutes. I got there at 11:00pm and told them I was there for a pickup, the cook then started making my cheese steak. So what’s the point of calling and ordering ahead of time if you’re going to start making my food when I arrive at the restaurant? Especially when the restaurant is empty. Aside from that, the sandwich was nothing to write home about, aging lettuce and they also didn’t put any extra cheese on the sandwich, probably won’t be going back.

Okay so today I had a little complaint with my girlfriend about Jim’s steaks Springfield and I call to make a complaint the customer service gave me an attitude now the owner of the place and a person who is wrapping the steak. Does not wear gloves at all and by the way please do not tip cuz you know why people have sticky fingers in there
