Went here for a brunch and immediately when walking in noticed the air conditioning was not on, very hot and somewhat a little humid. Wife and I pushed on and were glad we did as the breakfast was definitely more home style breakfast and easy to see why this regional chain is winning some awards. Before we get to the meal ordered, the place was substandard in cleanliness, they did look very short staffed while we were there. Uncleared, dirty tables and the bathroom was terrible. That aside, we enjoyed our breakfast order that included the Ultimate Combo with cinnamon roll pancakes, meat lovers omelette, homemade white toast and one Reese’s pancake with 2 cups of coffee and water. Total bill $27.66 without tip. Our waitress was very friendly and smiling all day long! We enjoyed everything but the Reese’s peanut butter pancake I wanted to try, that flavor just doesn’t go with pancakes for myself, but it is more than likely a winner with children. The meat lovers omelette was very good and you could tell they do not use “egg-wash” like IHOP or some of the larger chain. Recommend if you can get past the heat and dirty tables and bathroom. Our experience was good enough that I will eat again at a different location around San Antonio. Thanks for reading and if it helps give a thumbs up.

I pass this restaurant everyday on my way to work. My co-worker (who is a vegetarian) and I wanted to find a good, and reasonably priced place to eat lunch. We figured we would try Jimmy’s Egg and we are both SO glad that we did! The restaurant is clean and well lit. It’s much bigger inside than it appears and they even have a private seating area that you can reserve. The food was incredible and the menu had so many options from breakfast (which was PERFECT), to burgers, salads, sandwiches, and the coffee was good too! The owner came over and asked how things were and the server was nice, and attentive. We will be back many, many times. Try it, you wont be disappointed! I am so happy I work nearby! You can even order to-go :-}

We used to go to the Jimmy’s Egg back in Oklahoma. When we heard there was one here, we were excited. We ended up waiting at the front of the line for 20 minutes to get a table. There were 5 open. No one would check on us. Finally we just told them that we are going to sit. Our waiter was slow to get to us. My food was wrong and it came after other people that sat down after us had gotten their food. My food was made wrong, so I sent it back. It still came out missing parts and tasted worse than the previous one.

Never had a problem when I went there. The staff is always friendly and you are seated and served quickly. I’ve had multiple dishes there and it’s all good to me. I like that they refill the coffee multiple times throughout the meal (I love coffee!) and that they have a variety of different flavored creamers to choose from. The atmosphere seems to be bit more comfortable than a traditional Dennys or ihop, however I like those restaurants too. The only thing I would like different is if they had more locations around San Antonio than Babcock and West Ave.

Jimmy’s Egg has great breakfast. I love their pancakes. The wait staff is always courteous and friendly. If I am meeting clients early in the morning, before we view houses, I will take them here for breakfast! Great job!

Let me preface this by saying the rating is based solely on the owner. Everything else about this place is great.

Do yourself a favor and don’t sit at the bar area. Bacon, Sausage patties and links, and ham are NOT cooked to order. They are cooked and placed in a stainless roasting pan and left under a heat source. We watched as the old was not rotated up, we watched as half a$$ children’s pancake was made without the ‘fun little face’ by a female in the kitchen who looked like she had better things to do, we asked for our silverware, had to ask for coffee. We ordered fresh fruit, received hash browns. The servers couldn’t be bothered to run their own food and we watched as the steam stopped rising on several meals. The window from which the freshly cooked food is pushed out for delivery was so full, a good number of plates were moved out from under the heat source. If you enjoy a good Belgian waffle, please take note of this. Nonstick spray is FIERCELY over applied to both the top and bottom of the waffle maker. It was frightening. The poor young man trying to get the food out of the window was having to shout for the servers to come get their plates for their tables. Nothing about those servers gives me any confidence that they have been in food service long. They all seemed to have poor attitudes, yes it was fathers day, but it was not extremely busy (and now i know why). I have been looking forward to eating here for months and i am beyond disappointed. I wont be going back and my recommendation to anyone would be, DONT

Delicious breakfast food. Try the Biscuit Debris. When I was there recently, they did have an issue with no waiter coming to the table after they seated us, but after we alerted the hostess, she resolved the confusion very quickly and apologized. Service was great from that point forward.

Jimmy’s Egg lays a big EGG! An over staffed unfriendly atmosphere that seems put out by having to wait on you and kitchen that doesn’t give to shits on what they sling out by trying to pass out hashbrowns that have been dying on the corner of the grill for the better part of the morning and servers that couldn’t tell that they looks so bad that a staving dog would have passed them by. Between that cold sausage links, powder packet gravy, after working in the restaurant industry for the better part of 15 years, hands down the all around worst breakfast I’ve been a part of. Its only my opinion but that much lack of caring has got to start with upper management and roll on down to the dishwasher. I won’t be back for one. Eat at your own risk folks!
