This place had some good tasting sandwiches similar to Jersey Mikes. The family enjoyed their subs and felt they were all fresh tasting and delicious. They were a little on the pricey side but considering the quality of the other local options it wad somewhat justified. The service was fine with the only exception I has trouble getting a soft drink refill from the worker when the sigh they had up clearly said free refills. Don’t understand how that was overlooked but the manager or owner quickly made it right. The restaurant is small and there is nothing special about it’s sitting arrangements or decor. Would recommend if you are looking for fresh and good tasting subs in the area.

Was delivering a car for Rio Vista Chevrolet. Com…found Jerseys on a whim. Glad I did. What a great sandwich…so many to choose from. Fresh bread of your choice, fresh cut meats…and the works. The many throwback pictures on the wall..Amazing!! Been there 30 yrs. If I’m in the area again…going back!!

I’ve been to this place long ago and I can tell you right now it’s completely different. You walk in and you’re going back in time, nostalgic pictures of Monterey from the ’60s and I love it. I ordered something that was called The devil’s etc .. sandwich which was fantastic I always order with all the vegetables I did not order the lettuce on it for I don’t care for shredded but that’s okay. There’s three types of bread white wheat and sourdough and they’ll microwave it and that’s okay because it’s really delicious. I’m sorry there’s no picture however I will be back soon for I’ve been craving sandwiches this winter. Oh last but not least they do not and cannot toast your bread they don’t have a toaster which is fine for me sometimes.

I’ve gone to and analyzed every sandwich shop on the peninsula and this place is hands down the best. It’s all about the bread. This stuff is so good, it’s on a whole different level. Attached here is a pic of the #25 pastrami slaw on sourdough. Fantastic.

Although I haven’t been here since pre-pandemic the 5+ times I have been here have always been amazing. I would usually get the jersey classic. Unfortunately I live in San Jose so coming here was always a journey but well worth it. The owner is humble and kind and puts a lot of thought and care into his business which you both see at the establishment and in the taste quality. For those complaining about stale bread or bad cheesesteaks, I don’t know what to tell you besides you are either very picky, and for the cheesesteak merchants… maybe you should get a cheesesteak at a place that only specializes in cheesesteaks! I have to make the journey back ASAP! Miss this place a lot.

I don’t think I’ve had a better sub, or a better customer service experience. They slice the meat to order, have fresh soft bread and have a great selection of sandwich choices. The man and woman helping us were so friendly and genuine. We are visiting, and they offered directions to the tide pools and took the extra minute to make sure our annoying tourist questions were answered. Very cool.

Subs are overpriced, it was $40 dollars for two subs, one drink, and one bag of chips. Additionally, I kept getting asked how I wanted my sub even though the menu had a generic way the sub was supposed to be built, which I indicated that was how I wanted it. The bread was chewy, the philly cheesesteak meat is heated up in a microwave, and the cheese isn’t even melted into the meat. Monterey area is always overpriced and under quality, this place fits into that long list of places. I will not return as a customer.

Out of the 27 years they have been open I have been a customer for about 26 of them. The sandwiches are always consistent. I know my food is going to be delicious no matter what I order. Fresh veggies and a clean restaurant. What else can you ask for. Keep it up Bill!
