Stickball Special

Cancro Special
Provolone, roast beef and pepperoni. In the summer of ’74, the Pepsi delivery man requested a curious combination of provolone, roast beef, and pepperoni. Peter Cancro’s brother, John, liked the sandwich so much, he gave it the family name and a menu spot of its own.

Out of all of the jerseys mikes locations I have visited this had to be the worst. I counted 4 different people over the assembly line plus 3 in the back and it took well over 20 minutes with only 1 person ahead of me. The employees literally stared at each other and gave looks as if it was not their job to finish a sub. They were moving so slow it gave a fly a chance to land on my order. After making a fuss they tossed it and the 4 employees all acted like they had no control over what was going on. By the time I got my new order a long line had developed with frustrated customers waiting on unfinished subs that no one wanted to touch. I surely did not envy anyone behind me today.

My first time at Jersey Mike’s today. Period. My husband comes here all the time and he says the service is great. I appreciate going into a food service establishment and the workers are really careful with the customers and their orders. The three working today deserves so much more. I appreciate that their energy wasn’t all over the place. Thank you, guys.
