Cancro Special
Provolone, roast beef and pepperoni. In the summer of ’74, the Pepsi delivery man requested a curious combination of provolone, roast beef, and pepperoni. Peter Cancro’s brother, John, liked the sandwich so much, he gave it the family name and a menu spot of its own.

This is the ONLY sandwich place I go to They have the best lettuce ever GET IT GRILLED. I love my #9 sandwich grilled with some of the pepper relish! BUT… I would suggest going during the day and not after 6pm. Some evenings they don’t have specific things on their menu or run out of stuff! GO EARLY.

Ordered 3 sandwiches this evening and I told the guy that I wanted giants and I watched him cut the bread in half and he made 3 half sandwiches and I told him they was supposed to be giants. His response was you said regulars not giants, the only reason I said the regular was because he kept asking if it was chicken or beef. I said the regular Philly sandwich. I then asked him if I could get giants and he said he could make another of each but he would have to charge me for 2 sandwiches so I said never mind. While I was waiting another lady had the same issue she asked for a large and they gave her half. Also the guy who was helping me looked so dirty his shirt was stained black and yellow like he never washed it. He was touching the ink pen with the same gloves he was touching the meat and making the sandwiches with he never changed them. The bathroom had no paper towels or toilet paper in it and the floor was all sticky and dirty as well as the dining area was dirty and the tables sticky as well as the soda fountain floor area was black and sticky like it has not been mopped in weeks and the counter was sticky too. Was not a good experience there, very disappointing.
