Cancro Special
Provolone, roast beef and pepperoni. In the summer of ’74, the Pepsi delivery man requested a curious combination of provolone, roast beef, and pepperoni. Peter Cancro’s brother, John, liked the sandwich so much, he gave it the family name and a menu spot of its own.

I decided to get a different type of sub (Philly cheesesteak) from my usual. I asked several times for the oil & vinegar to be on the side. When I got home and unwrapped the sandwich it was wet, soggy and mushy… you can barely hold it. One, probably from the sweat and two from the oil and vinegar that was put on it.

Jersey Mike’s are probably my favorite sandwiches right now. Love having my turkey and Provolone “Mike’s way”! Service was somewhat friendly but took 25 minutes to get our order and there was only a couple people in and out during our time waiting. I understand freshness has its drawbacks but as we waited no one told us anything or when I went to the counter, they ignored me like I wasn’t there. Sometimes customers just need to hear that you’re working on it and that you care that they’re spending about a half hour waiting on their food. It’s good to have a heads up for that. This is not a place you want to go for a group of 6 if you don’t have time to wait.
